You put a quart and a half too much. The engine holds 4.5 quarts WITH the filter I don't know about these trucks but on my turbo car that would not equal good. For the weight I put 5w30 in my truck.

I put in 5 quarts with a filter change. When in doubt just use the dipstick.

I never remember what half of my vehicles take, I just fill tell it shows up on the stick. Start her up, let her run for a second, shut her down. Wait a little... Then check the stick and top her off. Its not a good idea to put the fate of your motor in the hands of a book with potential misprints or a technician who has no clue.

God put dipsticks on this earth for a reason.

Toyota recommends a 5W30 oil for emissions reasons... I vary my oil weights between summer and winter. I will run a 10W40 - 20W50 in the summer and a 0W30 in the winter.

During peak summer its 90+ here easy
During the winter its sometimes 5 degrees and below.

Amsoil.

I just installed 5 and it's perfect on the top line. 6 is just a little over doing it. Or check your dipstick. :dontknow:

You are talking about the thing in the engine and not some of the Toyota techs right?
