SignUp Now!well whats the difference? lol one has the whine and one has like a turbo "psssssh"No. URD is centrifugal while TRD is a roots type. 2 totally different blowers with their own unique aspects.

well over all performance? i dont know too bad they dont have like a supercharged turbo setupThere's more differences than just that.
lol I am not even going to touch this one. :laugh:
also...which one whines? are we talking like 03 mustang cobra whine? or i stepped on a mouse whine...:hmmmm2:
This thread made me do some research on the 2 as far as which is better. It's really hard to compare the 2, like Deviant said they are 2 totally different units. Both offering major performance gains. I read talk about voided warranty with the URD unit, but then again you got a guy like Gadget backing you up. Could you ask for a person for support? Nope. I read how the TRD max boost stops earlier then the URD. But then again that can be corrected and you still have your warranty. There are Pros and Cons for both and there are allot of them. On top of that you have TRD fans and you got URD fans. So if you on the fence about getting boosted, I feel for ya. It's a tough call.
ya i'm pretty much on that fence...i'm all about power and not really to concerned about the warranty. i might be fallin off the fence to the urd side..:driver:
I am not so sure... I don't know if an aftermarket FI system will void warranty if it was subjecting the powertrain to the same boost conditions as the TRD blower.
I chose the TRD system due to cost, power gains, looks, ECU adaptability, and the iron clad hardware and install that comes with it. The quality of the TRD install and components is bar none the best I have seen to date. There is no foo-foo BS little problems, the install is clean, and it just looks like sex sitting on top of the motor.
Stock to Stock the URD puts down a little more HP but the TRD puts down more torque earlier in the powerband. I like the curve of the TRD unit much better; a roots blower and this truck is a very nice match.
Another reason was due to the transmission of this truck... They have a history and if one fails under anything but TRD boost, you have a lot of work on your hands...
Many TRD trucks are in the 13s or knocking on the door to them at stock 6 pounds boost...
Either way you go you wont regret boosting the X.

see... you can resist...:laugh::smile:
Both are nice setups, both are fast trucks (NTINHRI and I have ran ride by side on the street and on the dyno).
I think the URD is more adaptable since it is totally tunable.
