Hid Color Comparison

So HID's are in and working great It turns out I needed an upgrade harness/relay to make them operate properly. I have what I believe to be 5k color in the headlights and 6k in the fogs. But to me the 5k headlights look a little too blue. The installers say the blue is coming from the reflection of my non HID High beam bulbs. for some reason the bulb is blue and shines yellow

But other then that these are a super nice upgrade as I do a lot of early morning driving in the dark.

They probably have a blue H3 high beam bulb on the base. You didn't know that?
The highest K I would ever do is 5000K and I have them in my fogs. Even they looks blue next to 4300K (true whie like oem hids)

Yep, got 5k's in my Mazda. Definite blue tinge in the light. Actually, one is a little bluer than the other (one blew out, got replaced under warranty, but the replacement came from a different source). As for your non-HID high, it's (assuming) a regular halogen. The blue mask is there to try and filter out the yellow and get it to match the color output of your HID low, but those blue masks are only partly effective against an inherently yellow halogen color signature.

I agree with CBRBob that, for street use, I wouldn't venture too far from 4300 Kelvin. The higher Kelvin count bulbs may look cooler, but they compromise vision and, in some jurisdictions, may be illegal.

I can see just fine with 8K :dontknow:. The difference in lumen output isnt to drastic IMO. Anything beyond 8K that I have had was way less. I wouldn't go more then 8K.

THe best light seems to come from the 5-6k. If i got HIDs, i would go with the 5 or 6.

I do a lot of early morning driving as well so performance not style is my main concern which is why I'd go with 4-5K. My wifes G-35 has a nice bright light that I believe is 4300K.

I wound up having to upgrade to the Mccullough HID, because that's what worked best with my XR. they arent the cheapest but when I turn on my lights they stay on! no flickering. I still have the cheapo fogs and the passenger side doesn't come on sometimes. no biggie I just turn them on and off and they are usually fine!

mcullough have always been one of the best kits. its just most people want to spend a little, and then complain about quality later. none of which ive heard on the mc's

I went in the shop asking for Mccullough HID and the guy was like no these are just as good they'll work I promise. So I agreed only if he promised to upgrade me if I didn't like them. and well now I have Mccullough. Woot Woot The generic HID's looked fine when they would come on and didn't flicker. but i ain't having that!

Ive got 12k and i love them i was going to go with 8 but just ended up ordering these instead and they are hella bright but i like em....as for oncoming traffic im sure they can beg to differ. lol:rock:

Hmm, light guru's I had something to pick your brain....I recently received replacement bulbs for my hid kit....And something caught my eye....Do the magnets in the h4 bulb assembly's affect coloring? IE, I have a set of 8k, and they were stuck together...(by the magnetic force, they werent in a set box apart from each other, they were in a box)...and Ive been trying for the life of me to figure out why they would be pure white....no blue tint, no blue color.... and that dawned on me....so light gurus....Would magnetic exposure(them being stuck together upon receipt from factory) cause them to lose their pigment....-by the way, im really pissed- but I wanted to know what might cause it....

Hey guys, Are some of the C2C's HID's screwing up or is it someone else's? My C2C's seems to be ok for now but I really don't like to ride with them on all the time, even at night....Vroooom, can't see me....Vroom.......:driver: hehe, jk. I use them at night don't worry!

If someone has a problem with there C2C's, then are they still giving bulbs if we need them? I sure would like to have one just in case.

darn i was hoping i had an answer on my Question LOL, that **** is burning my mind....I dont think you;ll have any luck with the c2c kits, without going to the manufacturer that c2c received the lights from....
