We are now accepting photo submissions for the 2009 XRU Calendar!
http://www.xr-underground.com/calendar

I custom-wrote a special page this year to handle the submissions and voting in hopes of simplifying the process from last year. You'll also get a little taste of what XRU v2.0 will look like on this new calendar submission page.

A couple of new rules this year:
1. You must be a member to even access the submission page
2. Each member may only upload 2 photos (so pick wisely)
3. Absolutely ** NO CAMERA PHONE PHOTOS **
4. At any time before the voting begins you may change out either of your two photos.
5. Submitted photos MUST be less than 2MB in size (this is a requirement by our server). Files over 2MB will not even upload.
6. To upload photos for judging, images must be less than 1024x768
7. All uploaded photos MUST have high-resolution (min 8 megapixel) equivalents (to be requested via email if your photo wins)

Here is how the process will work this year:
1. Submissions will be accepted from September 27-October 31, 2008
2. After that time, the XRU staff will vote on ALL submitted photos judging each on a scale from 1-10
3. Once the entire staff has voted, the system will automatically select the top 60 photos and discard the rest
4. On November 4 (ironic, right?) the polls will open and all XRU members will be able to go through the 60 photos and vote on them using a scale of 1-10.
5. Polls will close on December 5, 2008.
6. The calendar will be designed and out for printing the following weekend in hopes of getting them out for delivery by January 1 barring no delays from the printer.

Good Luck guys!

Go to www.download.com and download IrFanView. It's free and can easily resize your photos.

I request that you do not edit the photos and especially do NOT color correct them. I will take care of all of that when I drop them into the calendar design and prep it for print. :top:

Cool thanks :top:

Alright guys... I'm only gonna say this one time --- so pay attention!

If you get an error message like this on the left side of your calendar submission page:
cal_error.jpg

YOUR IMAGES ARE TOO BIG AND YOU NEED TO SCALE THEM DOWN!

Once we get to the judging phase, if your image throws an error it will be deleted from the judging process. I hate to have to do this, but there are just too many submissions to go through and send PM's to everyone who didn't scale their photos down.

If your photo wins, I will contact you via email to get the full-size original photo. So don't worry about the quality/size during this phase.

I can tell you right now there are three users who's photos will be removed if we started voting today. So if you uploaded photos, go back and make sure you don't see those errors. You should see thumbnails of your pictures on the left side of the page.

hmmmm so can you have more than 1 X in a photo??

Yes. Group shots are very much accepted. In my mind it gives more people the opportunity to get their truck in the calendar.
