WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD!?

The apple A4 processor is a direct copy of the qualicom chips (just produced by samsung) and seems to follow suit with the droid market (future advances for both droid and iphone).

Its going to be interesting!

Qualicom (snapdragon processors) has a 1080 decoding chip out and HD cell phone technology is becoming a reality!

What do you think the next year of technology will hold for us?

Why Iphone over Android phones?

IMO the new iphone is nothing but a sweated out attempt to try to compete with the extremely fast growing and more technologically advanced droid market.

Why the hell by an iphone 4? Hardware wise.... its nothing to be crazy over.

Iphone tried to edge out the latest android phones and fell on its face, maybe better luck next year?

Or is there something we are overlooking? is the new Iphone a diamond in the rough? Is there hardware specs under the blanket that we arent seeing?

Pissed that Iphone is still on the AT&T network ONLY!?

Is android for gays?

Is Iphone for gays?

Talk about it! BUT keep it civil!

Iphone I believe will ultimately stay in the lead....because they ultimately have more money.

Apple is genius when it comes to marketing and design. I dont think they have anything to worry about with the droid stuff.

I bet in 5 years time droid will be gone. Qoute me in June 2015:top:

lol just like they are in the lead with their desktops and servers?

BRILLIANT!

But sewing for patent infringement for technology developed by other companies because they are scared is pretty good marketing.

droid market has already beat the new iphone on paper before it has hit the shelves rofl.

Apple has more money then Google?

Or open source development? AKA free market

I suppose charging $1500.00 for a 600$ computer does make them a lot of coin though...

Good old Steve blowjobs.

Uh Oh... No he didnt.

Thats right I did!

IMO, I do feel that the droid is ahead; at this moment anyways considering the iPhone 4 isn't out yet.

But I do agree with Werty...in that Droid introducing everything all at once might be their downfall (I said it might, not will), unlike Apple who gves customers a little here and there. Apple does this for marketing reasons and it is genius, no if ands or buts about it.

IMO, the way Droid gave it's customers all of it up front reminds me of someone trying to make a relationship out of a one night stand...ain't gonna work! People get bored after the same old crap, we need something to keep us coming back for more. And if we get all of it right up front, what's to keep us from staying with it?

Did you miss my entire 1080 qualicom chips speal? New technology multiple times a year will beat out apple and there once a year releases just because it forces android phone makers to compete with each other.

If I make an android phone, and you make an android phone - you and I will compete head to head back and forth.

What this does is gets the phones out there - it saturates the market. BUT it also forces the rapid development and implementation of phone technology (so we can constantly try to 1 up each other).

I dont call holding out on a flash camera anything that would keep me tied.

Apple is slowly releasing old-current technology. While droid is being released on new technology. For the hardcore techies.. its an easy choice. Android > Apple

For instance, by the end of the year, the iPhone will be the only smart phone on the market that won't support Flash.

The iPhone will lack the hardware advances in the mobile market the same way it is behind in the desktop realm. Apple was finally able to run on the intel architecture just a few years ago. And even today, the hardware that comes in their top of the line PCs is standard hardware in a very modest gaming PC (but at three times the price).

The same issue that plagues Apple there, will plague them in the mobile phone. From the brief editorial i read on the iPhone 4 the highlights were "thinnest design", "LED Flash", and "video chat". Thinner phone doesn't interest me at all, LED flash - welcome to 2006, and video chat - great.. now i have to be dressed and visually presentable when people call me.

The future of Droid will be on the advancement of hardware technology (faster procs, more memory, HD resolution). Android will easily adapt to these changes. Where Apple's next big advancement (iPhone 5) will get it to where the the Android systems are going now.

I voted Iphone, again...
the reason why? well, I like it... I'm not a techy kind of guy... I could give two shits about the "stuff" you guys are trying to argue, or not argue, about.... It has games on it... funny apps... and is easy to use... it's the first phone I've ever paid for if that gives you any hint on how concerned I am about cell phones.... I like it because I use the ipod, it plays video, etc.
I'm not doing anything that i know of, that would be better on a droid... I don't understand 99% of all that techy junk yall are talking about..... as is the case with MOST people....

I like my iPhone because it's comfortable. Not that I don't like change, but once jailbroken it has an absurd amount of options for it readily available. I'm completely ignorant to the Android and HTC Evo or whatever worlds, but I do love my iPhone. It does everything I need it to and more.

Apple maybe late on certain things like Multi-tasking, LED Flash, etc., but they're late for a reason. They take their time to do things right. And honestly, I won't say the iPhone is the best phone out there, but when all is said and done, the iPhone will prevail cause Apple is a household name now. Yeah, Windows is as well, but their phones went nowhere. Android isn't a household name so the people who aren't like us, will end up going to get an iPhone.

The marketing is EVERYTHING!!! If I was a clueless person, and saw a TV ad for the iPhone, then I saw an ad for a Droid phone, I would go iPhone. They are more appealing to the everyday person.

So again, let me just reiterate that I'm not saying the iPhone is the best, but it definitely isn't the worst. And I like it cause it suites my needs. I'm sure someone will reply to my post trying to defend either iPhone or Android, etc., but honestly....you like what you like.

I've had my 3gs for a year now and really like it. This comparing battle over phones who cares. It's just personal preference. I really think that if the iphone was on other carriers the android phones wouldn't be so popular. I left verizon for at&t. I get great 3g coverage and no dropped calls on at&t, but that really depends on where you live. Verizon also had good coverage for me. Before I ended my contract I looked at their smartphones and at the time they all sucked.

I'm getting the new iphone 4. I've already had the new ios4 for the past month with the final version installed which will get released to the public on the 21st. It really makes the phone better then it was. Apple comes out in top in design/looks though. Another great thing about the iphone is the amount of storage it comes with, and the ability to have your music all on one device.

I agree with mort about majority of the people don't know crap about the detailed specs. Granted I've never used a droid phone yet, but from watching the videos I'd still pick the iphone.

Dont go there!

How much time does it take to put in an LED flash?

When was the flash camera invented?:laugh:

See what I dont understand is why iphone/mac users acknowledge a better product but stay with iphone... To me that is asinine logic. That makes buying an iphone even more ignorant.

I dunno man... Android has bigger fish to kill, they are competing against themselves and have surpassed "iphone technologically" (lol dont get me started on that cause the technology has already been out way before iphone came around) in a very short period.

I read somewhere that android topped sales for the year already and is expected to grow by 38% this year... But thats just market analyzing so u know how that goes

The AT&T network was the biggest killer of iphone for me, i want nothing to do with iphone and AT&T here anymore.

I voted Iphone, again...

Hell yeah dude, it is a bit pricey...

The only thing that makes it acceptable for me is being able to tether my laptop through the droid to the verizon network where I get a DSL equivocal down and upstream speed.

SO its an air card (wireless modem) and a phone.

I only pay 80 something bucks a month though for unlimited data and the rest, which isnt TOO bad... BUT its not very good either... id like it to be less.

Agree

Agree

On a side note --- People also said the 'Zune' would be a tough competitor for the iPod because of it's advanced video playback features (before iPod offered video playback), more storage space, and a built in radio...yea ok, that thing TANKED horribly:stupid: . And given that it did (at the time) have better features then the iPod, most people still chose to go with Apple because it was more familiar...which is why the iPod prevailed. I think I've only seen maybe 2 Zunes since their release:laugh:.

Just sayin...

Its about what's best for the consumer. Planned obsolescence is great tho from a business perspective. As consumers of technological advances wouldn't we all rather have a lightbulb that never Burns out?
