XRU Top Ride Of The Month Selection Process

What I dont understand is why we are united as a "community" yet 5 people get to choose who is "top dawg" or "TOTM"

Almost every Truck enthusiast forum I have ever been on has the "community" submit a nomination via PM and the top three most nominated truck go in a week long poll the last week of the month, with the results of the poll hidden so no one but moderators can see the results.

Instead of mods choosing their favorites, I say let the forum as a WHOLE pick who they think deserve it. Let the people choose for themselves!

this of course is my opinion. Whatever thats worth.

because if we do this... you will be the TOTM the whole year. but this is a good suggestion.

It has been said a number of times.. you can PM the admins for you thoughts on TROTM.... If you have a idea on a true ROTM PM a admin..

We do not choose our 'favorites.' If you believe someone should be TROTM, send us a PM like everyone else does.

In short, just be active and helpful and have an X-Runner. :biggrin: While the selection process is handling strictly by the XRU Staff, we always except nominations via PM. Please feel free to PM one of the XRU staff members to nominate another user. You may not nominate yourself. :wink:

We get PM's on a daily basis from members nominating another member for TROTM. This IS a community website, so the community has a right to vote for the TROTM, which they DO!

Most members that are on XRU on a daily basis, know which members are active and helpful to others. They send us their nomination and why they feel that person should get it.

With my suggestion, I should say like the other places you can only be TOTM once every 12 months or so. I dont care if you could never be it again.

And David, your missing the point too. If 100 people send you 100 different names, 5 people choose their favorite and vote on one. Why not if 100 people sent you names and the most common top three names go into a poll and the WHOLE site picks TOTM. The community DOES NOT have a right to VOTE, they have a right to NOMINATE.

Actually the members do about 99% of the suggesting/nominating/picking for us...if it comes down to a tie, then YES, the XRU Staff will always have the final say and be the deciding factor.

The previous TROTM's were picked by members due to the fact that they felt they deserved it. Look at the TROTM threads, do you see how many times people say "Well deserved"? A lot of the people saying that are people that sent us PM's voting for that person.

Spyder has been here on XRU almost longer then anyone; since the beginning, so has Chris, so had Gadget, so has Steve, etc... ALL of which were excellent choices by the members of this forum!!! It seems odd that you're the only one so worked up about this.:hmmmm2:

Again, here are some of our main rules for TROTM:

• TROTM trucks are based heavily on the actions of the owner on the XRU forum. This includes asking questions, helpfulness, attitude, ideas, suggestions and knowledge as well as how they treat other members in the community

• Must be a member in good standing for a minimum of 90 days and never been banned for any length of time

• Adheres to forum rules

• The number of mods done to a truck does not effect the selection process. Stock trucks can be chosen as TROTM also.

These rules have been here since the beginning...And if any of the above rules bother you, because you feel they may effect your chances of getting TROTM, I'm sorry.

EVERY person who has been TROTM adheres to these rules; which are basically saying---dont be a prick, be nice, show respect, and it doesn't matter how much money you've spent, as long as you are active in our community, you have a chance on winning!

I dont want TOTM. Ive been banned so im not even eligible. And i could care less about who has the most mods, that has nothing to do with it. I do however want the ability to CHOOSE.

Im only pointing out that your system is sort of unfair to many deserving members here who have been looked over.

Trust me, their are plenty of deserving members on thel list for TROTM, but we can only do ONE member a month:bird:. This doesn't mean that were not thinking about them or have discussed them, it just means that one person was voted more for the current month then the other.

Steve aka BSP06XRU (not ntinhri),who just won TROTM in April...and no, he's never a prick. He's an outstanding member of XRU and had over a dozen nominations prior to the month he was elected, along with great feedback from some of the members explaing why they felt he deserved it. The XRU staff agreed, so he got the win:top:

Yea i know i was just buggin the guy, lol. I noticed that the last on the list was the Ride itself lol. Makes sence, without most of these guys alot of us, it would be a pain\hell to get things, fix things, how to things, ect. and to take the time to help one another one on one at times. Takes a good person.
