DRAWING TONIGHT AT 9PM EST ON USTREAM!

That's right, it's time for a giveaway - and why start out small? This is a forum for enthusiasts; and many of us are racing enthusiasts too. On top of that most of the people here participate in this community by using a computer. So why not tie it all together with the XRU iRacing Package Giveaway!

Click here to enter the giveaway now

Just $1.00 per entry (enter as many times as you like) will earn you the chance to win this awesome racing package. I raced iRacing for about 6 months and can say, as someone who has raced computer simulations since I was about 10 years old, that this is the best - most realistic - authentic - and mature racing simulation/community that there is. Racing is serious. This isn't a game, but it is damn fun. I will be reinstating my membership in the coming months and will join our winner ON THE TRACK!

The details of the package are in the XRU Store but the winner will receive a complete Logitech G27 Racing Package, seen here:

Along with a 1 year membership to iRacing.com! Together that's OVER $400 worth of gear. The winner will be selected LIVE ON USTREAM (by my lovely wife) on DECEMBER 31, 2010 -- so you have plenty of time to enter.

Got questions - ask me... or you can ask Tapp. He came for a visit to my house and spent most of the weekend racing on iRacing. But it was all good b/c it is seriously addicting, challenging and a lot of fun.

Aww man too bad i already bought this system like 3 weeks ago with NFS Shift... EFFIN AWESOME! Have not tried iracing.com yet but i might have to give that a try, seems more realistic the NFS Shift....

Right on Klint, good idea dude! :top:

^ Yeah, much more realistic than NFS Shift. And I'm not knocking NFS - they're a lot of casual fun. I've been playing DIRT2 with my brother for about 6 months and it's fun. But playing online you get lots of douchebags that ram, wreck and cheat. You don't get any of that in iRacing. If you have someone ramming, you can submit a report to iRacing and they can literally ban their account for a probation period --- just like here on XRU. They encourage REALISTIC racing situations. And in a real race you can't just ram everyone you want and then start the next race with a new car.

It's challenging, but you'll also find A LOT more adults on the mics. I think the last time I played (for about 6 months last year), I only heard 3 kids on mic. That makes me :D

^ technically, yes. Lets argue over logistics. You must be angry because you can't afford the $1.00 entry fee. (kidding - ease up) Three points:

1. The $1.00 ticket hopefully proves that I'm not really looking to get all my money back or MAKE money off this. Whatever isn't covered by tickets will be paid for by XRU donations and me.

2. I'm not gonna giveaway a $400+ package to someone that could care less. So the raffle-nature of the giveaway allows those that are truly interested to enter.

3. This will be given away regardless of how many tickets are sold. I've sold 27 tickets. If that's all I sell, then some of the donation money gets used and some of my personal money gets used to pay for the rest and give an awesome race package so some lucky person that will enjoy it!

So you can see - there is a certain chance that this will be far more a giveaway than a raffle. :p

no panties ruffled here dood... I was just stirring the pot a bit... didn't mean to offend... I hope you understand my perspective on it though... ??:adore:

and the just giving it to someone who could care less statement is why I'm not entering... never really been into video games, so I'd probably just give it away to someone on here... for free.... hahahaha baaazinga....

I'll snap a pic next time I setup to race. Haven't had much time here recently b/c I've been pulling a lot of overtime hours at work trying to rollout our new corporate website before January 1. But no fancy racing seat. I don't even have the racing wheel setup that I'm giving away. Mine is the older model and doesn't have the shifter module or the 3 pedals --- mine only has two. But it gets the job done.

Neither. Here's what will go down... old school drawing method.

Two days before the giveaway, I'll remove the tickets from the store so no more can be purchased. I'll then print out all of the names (each name will be printed the number of times per tickets they order --- so order 20 tickets, your name is printed 20 times). I'll then cut them up and drop them in a bowl or something like that.

Then, my wife will draw a name on uStream the night of the giveaway. Keep an eye on the XRU homepage to see what time the live drawing will take place. :top:

I'll probably pick 3 winners in case the first cannot be contacted, the second will be used, etc.

There are currently only 100 entries. And most people have purchased multiple tickets, so chances are still good for the lucky winner! Something like 1 in 8 right now.
