Before: arrows showing the part that you will be removing
After:
Tools Required :
flathead screwdriver, phillips head screwdriver, hands that bend 20 different ways, and a good detailing spray with some terry cloth or microfiber rags..
take the grill off, look at the silver aluminum bumper just behind ur front bumper cover. just above that bumper there are metal clips that hold the top part of the black piece. take a flathead screwdriver and ease them off, they have hooks on them, but they slide right off. after getting all of them, there are a few parts on the strip that hook over the upper part of the same grill. pull up softly on those hooks and it pops right out. now the top part is completely detatched. pull it out and look at the painted part. at the bottom edge of the black piece, u will see little specs of light showing through, this is where the clips are located from underneath the bumper. when laying under the truck there are push clips that will need to be removed as well as a screw or two. these all hold the normal bumper as well as the body kit bumper in place onto the aluminum bumper. these clips don't have anything to do with the black piece, but make it 200 times easier to get to the clips. there are blue clips on the backside of the regular bumper(not body kit) these clips come out fairly easily with a long flathead screwdriver, though be careful not to break the slot it slides through, its a very important part when putting it back together.
there r a few hidden clips at the outer edges of the aluminum bumper. those r the hardest ones to get to. also be sure to take out the clip from the center of the body kit bumper. this will make it so that the body kit splits into two sides and makes it easier to take the black piece out when its detatched. after u get all the clips out, pull out one side of the front body kit, it should slide right out, it doesn't come off the whole way, but does bend out a good 6 inches. u will see the way that the black piece is attatched. it slides right off when positioned correctly. be sure to have some detail spray handy with a rag that can handle some grains of sand and road grime. take the black piece off one side at a time if ur doing it urself, the pieces r flexible, but holding them is difficult with one person. after u got it off and cleaned the painted part underneath, put the body kit back into place, get back under the truck, and put the clips back in facing the top of the truck (opposite of how u took them out) this is much easier than putting them in upside down. be sure not to force them. connect all of the push clips, re-install the top grill, and all screws and clips.
