Cory's 2006 Radiant Red X-Runner
The Story behind the Ride:
I first saw the X-Runner in 2007 while looking around on the Toyota website as my buddy built his 4x4 taco online before he bought it. At the time I was driving an econobox Nissan Sentra 1.8L Special. I was not a car guy at all and wanted a bike so I waited until September of 09 to go and buy a brand new ’10 CBR600RR. For fun I had been looking online at trucks because I kinda wanted to ditch my car but couldn’t afford both a new bike and truck. So we sat down with the Honda salesmen and as I lifted the pen to sign for the bike Ms.HottacoX says, "hey weren’t you looking at a truck?" You could literally hear the salesmen’s heart break as I dropped the pen and said lets go take a look. A half hour drive away we went to where I saw an RR at a dealer on auto trader. Hopped into an 06 RR X-Runner with 39,000km took it for a rip and was hooked! The Ms. drives a hard bargain and after sitting with the salesmen for almost 5 hours (well past close) we bought the truck. Being a bike guy and knowing nothing about cars I joined XRU to see and learn what can be done with my new ride. I am very thankful for all the help and great people I have met through XRU. My truck would still be bone stock without the love and support from the Ms. as well as the help from the XRU community!
