I'm having a custom intake manifold made along with my turbo headers and I wanna get rid of all the vacuum lines on the intake. Is it possible to reroute all of them or would it be better to leave them on the new one.. Pics of re routed lines would be nice also what all the vac lines are for..thanks!

Have them placed at the rear for the clean look. But they are needed. One for the Brake booster. One for Evap canister. Then the one that is beind the throttle body.

I wanna have the lower intake mani remade with the custom upper. But I can't seem to find any pics of the lower intake where the injectors and rail go. Just trying to see how it all mounts and connects. Anyone with a torn down or taken out engine able to take some pics for me?!

And for the upper/main intake I wanna have it made like these two combined.

What's everyone's thoughts on that?!

Dont know about that manifold. I havent heard back from the fabbricator.
Last i heard he was waiting for some more parts to build it.

Keep an eye out for a intake manifold.
It should be posted on the forum by a member soon.

You all need to get your nomenclature straight.

That is not the intake manifold. It is the plenum or can be called the surge tank.

The manifold is what the plenum bolts to and the manifold bolts to the cylinder heads.

URD should make a plenum....I bet a ton of mk3 and turbo guys would buy it. Im sure if would cost a lot but I think there is a market for it now.

If I get 20 people to commit and pay would you do it?

yea, strength. Plastic vs aluminum

The main selling point would probably be aesthetics. But for those who want tons of boost and peace of mind it would be perfect

looks vs power/efficiency.....

I mean sure we have one member who has ate a screw but that is one... we dont have nissan motors.....

After having this motor on the market for 10 years I would be led to believe there is a reason this isn't a go to mod...

The stock plenum was never designed to has gobs of boost thrown down it. Look around at other builds on high powered cars. You will almost always find custom plenums.

Im not saying its a necessary mod. I just think people would buy it:top: I would

Well hopefully I'll be having one made soon ... he's working on my headers now. And as soon as there done I'll be having a plenum made. I should have some dyno results before and after to go with it..
