was it done fast? they might have just done a "toe and go", but if it was aligned twice, I would find it hard to believe anything is broke/bent as you have to "shake down the wheels" before you align it, and make sure everything is in working order. without a spec sheet though, how can you know it was done right?

I do alignments and I have seen where people do not understand how the ecentric adjustments work on our trucks. I recommend to take it to someone that does alot of truck alignments, most cars are not adjustible anymore and all they do is set the toe and they just do not have experance with doing a more complicated alignment.

thats true the first time they gave me the sheet and i waited like two hours the second time i watched them align it and it took about an hour he also said they had a hard time finding the specs. it was an aglinment/brakes shop. i guess ill be taking it by the toyota dealer sometime and throw a new set of tires on at the same time

I know this thread is oldbut here is a few pics of the way my tires are wearing. The first two are from the tire that. Was on the front driver side the third is my passenger side that has been on for about 5k miles the 4th pic has been on there for about 10k and it's not wearing as bad or as fast but it is still wearing. Any ideas of what this could be other than alignment. There's nothing its not rubbing I'm just getting ready to buy new tires and don't want them to wear quickly

That's what I figured, is there any front end parts that would go bad causing the toe issue even if I got it aligned correct

is the ride height from tire-to-fender the same in all 4 tires? if not is it leaning or any height problems you may notice? may need new shocks and a final good alignment..

and do you hit alot of potholes?

I live in bfe. And I have some of the worst roads so ya I hit a a lot of bumps that they like to call repairs but I hit them slow. Real slow and I will have to measure next time I see concrete. I'm not lowered or anything yet. But changing my shocks is on the list . I usually buy my parts offline cause they are cheaper but as far as I read they only place you can get the struts are from the dealer?

I am still not 100% sure. I also had a squeak in my front end that I has to fix. I put new sway bar bushing kit from urd. And I put on new mevotech sway bar end links because my were in bad shape. This stopped the sqeak. But I also did my third alignment at the same time an put on brand new tires I have yet to see tire wear but I also started driving a company can so I don't drive my truck as much. All I can say is the first two places I took it to get it alighed probably did it wrong.
One of the places told me they did NOT have the spec to alighn it correct. My front end pulls though and is squarilly which my be caused by my cheap Firestone fire hawk tires. Hope this helps lol

Me too

I have the XII drop, been riding for some time with it (love it btw).
Truck started pulling right, got it aligned, and today first time on highway I noticed it still pulls to the right slightly.

Alignment Specs:
Camber LF -1.5 RF -1.7
Caster LF 5.2 RF 5.2
Toe LF .06 RF .00

Seems like a half a** alignment job?

Hey guys, any updates? I just decided to rotate my directional nexen n3000 and found terrible wear on inside of both fronts. I have pix and even the data sheets from carmax who aligned it 2x after getting that pull to the right, when I bought it with 66k a year ago and im at 84.5k now. And its just getting worse and has just about ruined my 2 fronts that are now on the rear. I have a link to 2 tweets of pics but havent reached 10 posts yet... hmmm
What do u guys think?

Front Tire Wear

OK, I'M new here.
Regarding front tire inboard wear. The front tires are pointed in at the front. Toe in.
The tires need to be dead straight. I bought my X with 100K miles on it and had the same problem.
I moved the fronts to the rear and then adjusted the toe in as neutral as possible.
If you sight down the edge of the front tires looking at the rear tire and the trailing edge of the front tire is sticking out past the front edge of the front tire, you have toe in. It helps if you lay on the ground across the front of the truck looking aft.
Toe in is preferred for irregular road surfaces but is bad for tire wear, additionally if the camber of the road doesn't match your settings, it will feel like it is pulling to the right.
With the tires pointed dead straight it will tend to wallow a bit in the ruts left by heavy trucks.
I adjusted the tie rods on my truck to give me dead straight and then set off on a 4000 mile road trip,
no issues. I would like to tweak in a slight amount of toe in as an experiment but after driving over many different types pavement it may not be necessary. When you get on some big sections of freeway and you can see that it is flat, I can take my hands off at 70mph and it is straight.
If you don't want to do it yourself find a shop that does race cars and they should be able to get it right.
Also check the camber, if it is straight up 0 that is not good. Needs to be 1.0-1.5 degrees to give some good side bite and keep the front stable. The X-Runner is a 70 Camaro with a longer wheelbase. It is better built but will respond in a similar fashion.

Are you guys all forgetting about caster? Caster is a pulling angle. Does not cause the tire wear but if it's out out will cause a pull. Generally want a slightly lower number on the driver side to compensate for road crown. Toe will only effect tire wear and off center steering wheel. Camber will effect tire wear and could cause a pull/ drift. Bad tires can cause pulling and will wear if there is a broken or shifted belt. Bad shocks can cause "cupping" of the tires. Bad steering and suspension components, like ball joints and tie rods ect, can cause a pull, tire wear, bump steer, swirly feeling. Tire pressure can cause pull, tire wear, swirly feeling. Not rotating your tires every 3-6k miles will effect tire wear and longevity. If anyone could post a print out of their alignment i could pobably help out.
