Just got back home from VIR. It was awesome! I am stoked! New pavement was super smooth and grippy. My X drove fantastic with all the new mods I installed. I finaly found a work around for the stability control Natzi that the 09 and newer X's have.:thumbdown:We have lots of pictures and some realy cool video to share soon. Buck and G both got soloed, they get to run with no instructor in the truck with them. G did go for a spin again this time it was the last turn, hog pen turn, he had help not his fault. He got geat praise from the instructor for his avoidance move.

An MR2 spun in front of me and I had two Mustangs overshoot me on both sides so there was no where to go. One Mustang went just wide enough to allow me to shoot off into the grass to avoid a pile up.

Got back last night from my shortened Track Daze event at VIR with a great bunch of XRU folks. I'm attending to some personal issues that are taking priority, but will be posting comments and pics soon.
Short version of my experience: Intense and awesome!!!

I got to pass a few more cars this time around, my times were a four seconds a lap faster than last years best lap and I left plenty on the track for later. looks like my fast lap was 2:28.97 and of course it was in the session that I forgot to start the gopro.:stupid:

I love the Vette pass, especially right before the break and turn In!

Just pulled my lap times. My best was 2:32:73. The funny thing was that was on the second day when I was solo I think, but I was easing up on the truck and got my best time. Slower and smoother is faster.

Carnage report: Last time at VIR I had some repairs to make. Destroyed the rear brakes, blew up the throw out bearing (APR T56). This time all is well. Pretty happy about that.

When you said you were just using your 4th and 5th gears, instead of revving the piss out of the motor, that it would have a positive effect on your lap times if you drove a momentum line to go with the change, much easier on the brakes to.
We need to do this again before we forget what we learned this last trip.
I want to see Bucks time and compare it to his instructor's time driving his truck. I'll be pissed if he bested my time in a N/A truck with DOT tires.

So, the Russian drove Buck's truck?

Yea, lets see that. All the Russians I have hung out with are nuts and you cannot tell them not to be 1000% balls out on everything.
