So the website is getting attacked on a more regular basis --- hence the reason we were offline the past couple of days. We are working hard to determine the best upgrade path. Unfortunately the vBulleting 5 license that we purchased is very buggy. We didn't realize this when we purchased the license but the information/discussions are all over the vBulletin forum. We are considering switching to a new platform that is more stable and secure.

Guys - just bare with me. We want to make sure we get this right and only have to do it once. In the meantime, I'll do my best to monitor for website attacks to keep the site clean.

There was similar issues with another forum I have been a part of for a few years and in order to greatly minimize the attacks, the closed the forum to public viewing, the only way to view anything besides the home page was to log in as a member, not sure that it will help here or if it is anything to consider but might as well through it out there and see what sticks!

Glad to be back!
Thank you, Klint!

The withdrawal getting to you too :stoned:

I had one more suggestion to consider, the TROM is always great but in times that we might not have a new selection, could we look into have the banner change to cycle through the past TROM and have it refresh every time you flip through threads or post?

This is only an issue because we're focusing on the upgrade. There will be regular changes to the banner once we're back to 100%.

I am assumed that would be the case, just a nice feature I have seen on other forums. Some months don't get a vehicle of the month chosen for various reasons.

Im ready for the xru 3.0 :adore:

Me too. Unfortunately the process is being much more of a PITA that I anticipated. Hopefully start making some good progress soon. With work, I can usually only allocate about 1 solid night per week on the upgrade so that's why its taking longer than I had hoped.

Thank you for all your hard work with the new upgrade. I haven't been part of XRU very long. But this site has helped me with my truck, mods that I was pondering, and just a wealth of knowledge from members. Thank you ALL for having one of the best forums out there :adore:

Suggestion: I know there is "How To" section. But would there be any way that it could be made easier to read? When you go to look for a specific process, it seems like some of the more in depth posts would take more than one post. And by the time the second or remaining post was entered, other people had already commented in between. So you would have to scroll through to see the rest of the process. Perhaps, separate the comments from the actual "How To" post. If there was a way to have the "How To" be downloaded would also be great, like a PDF.

A separate location for diagrams, like pin outs or wiring diagrams would be nice too. I have run into a few electrical issues on my truck, and I had to look else where to find wiring diagrams.

Also, an Acronym dictionary. I know that for a long time, I was confused with some of the posts until i was able to read enough of the posts to understand what some of the acronyms meant. And as it was stated, the search doesn't recognize 3 letter searches.

Finally, the first little slice of good news in this process. The conversion script is running right now to convert the forum over to a new platform! :blurock: I'm not 100% sure that it's going to work properly but just getting it to execute is progress. Hopefully if everything at least converts to a point where all of the forums, replies and users are in place then I being the process of re-skinning the forum. Reskinning was a requirement even if we stayed wtih vBulletin so it was a good time to review so other options and see if there was something more lightweight and stable to work on.

I'll keep everyone up to speed! Thanks for hanging with me while we work through this process.

Thanks for the up-date, Klint.

Keep up the good work, but only if it doesn't take too much of your little time away from Krista and the kids!
