I've been really busy the past couple months with motorcycle race season starting back in Feb. Still still have one more engine to rebuild so modding the truck has been a little low on my list of things to get done.
I pretty much have everything I need now for install minus getting with Gadget for a calibration file for the UCON. Hopefully here in the next month or two I'll do the install over a weekend.
I have done a couple mods recently though. Installed a new steering wheel
I also decided to go a different route with my rear suspension. I know most guys use the QA1's for rear shocks but I've always been a fan of Koni and have used them on quite a few BMW's in the past. One of my good friends sells BMW parts for a living and does suspension builds for his customers. Its fairly common practice that the Koni 1186sport shock is used on BMW e36 and e46 suspension builds but if you run the part number it is spec'd for mid 2000's Ford mustang GTs. My friend had some extra ones laying around and we compared all the measurements to the stock X-runner shock. If i remember correctly overall length was maybe one inch different and the only issue was that the sleeve in the rubber bushing on the Koni was too long to fit the X-runner but the width of the bushing was dead on. So I decided to try it. I had to grind the sleeve flush with the bushing and they fit perfectly. Only other problem is that the supplied Koni adjustment knob won't fit on top of the shock on the drivers side due to clearance with the bed of the truck. I improvised and made my own adjustment tool out of some aluminum plate that I had laying around at work. What I made is very similar to this but was free and took about 15min to make.

They've only been on the truck for two days. I had them set to full soft yesterday and they seemed quite a bit softer than stock with a very comfortable ride. Today I set them 180 degrees from full soft and they feel much firmer but still have a good ride. Pretty happy with them so far!
