I hate using ES bushing. They fall apart after a couple of years and need to be replaced.

i started cutting the cancer out last night. the driverside frame rail where the cat would sit was way worse than i thought. it is double layered after cutting through and pulling the section out the inside of the frame is fine but both layers wer done. passenger side had two small spots very easy to take care of. very happy that i decided to do this.

so i sandblasted the whole frame sunday an that revealed just how bad the driverside was. Soon ill make a patch panel an start boxing the frame in.

I live in Houston, and don't visit the beach often. Mine is still in rather good shap. However, I am quite envious of what you are getting to do to your frame, as mine is showing some age spots. Splattering on POR15 in bad areas just won't get to the root of prevention like what you are doing, with all of those fancy tools. Le sigh. I do see me having to do something similar in the future.

Which grade of steel are you using for the boxing?

409 mild steel? Something else?

If you are going to die punch the new pieces, or whatever it is called, then I am pretty much about it. I'd like to see how it turns out, then will probably say yes.

yes mild steel no dimple dies just solid flat plate that fits in the frame for a easy weld and strength. no need for more holes in the frame lol. then i will add cross bars for more rigidity. ill take pics dont worry.

luckily dont really need any parts. my friend can make me all the plates on a c&c plasma table.

lol i do this for a living an know alot of people in the industry so it helps out alot.

ive been putting in alot of work. frame is almost done. have two more braces and battery box then i can coat it. engine is almost fully assembled. waiting for heads should be done this weekend then i can seal it up. i have a ton of pieces out for powder coat currently. im working on a partial engine bay shave and cleaning it up. getting rid of wires that arent needed. alot of other things too will wait to post when i get it together.

Man. You aren't lying. You've been really busy! What are the specs of the parts which you've installed in the engine?
