Considering supercharger, is it worth it?

I'm a recent new owner of a 2013 black xrunner. I was considering a mild performance upgrade of the magnuson kit, and was wondering what other owners of the magnuson/trd supercharger thought of it.
A little background, I'll be using the truck as a daily driver, so I'm equally concerned with quality/reliability as much as a decent performance upgrade for a daily driver without having to go into the motor.
A little more about my past history, I recently sold my supercharged (F1 Procharger) 427 vette, and currently own a 2016 challenger Hellcat for a weekend toy.
Thanks all for taking the time to share your thoughts

I am happy with mine.

I have a 2008 that I have put approx. 60K miles after the S/C install. The performance level will be nothing like what you are accustom to with your other vehicles.

Thanks guys, I'm very used to both types, the F1 in my Vette was a centrifugal and produced 785 rwhp, whereas the roots in the Hellcat makes 707 at the crank. Both pulled like hell, it's hard to to tell the difference because both were completely different animals with different gearing, vehicle weight, etc; however, I'm well aware that the performance capabilities of the centrifugal are well above that of the roots.
With that being said, I'd still love to hear more comments from owners of the roots style magnuson/trd regarding everyday livability
Thanks

@sdxrunner619 has had both major supercharger kits and is now ls swapped and says that hand down dollar spent vs performance gain the ls is by far the best option

If I had to pick one, I'd stay TRD for sure. It matches the power band of the engine better. You allready have a hellcat... So unless you want 2 weekend toys, I'd keep it simple and just got TRD with a f/p and 2.8 pulley with other bolt ons.

While I haven't had a single issues with my LS since the swap, I've killed 1 clutch, trans is being rebuilt, and blown up a rear end, and #2 is on its way out. So I vote KISS.

I always thought this truck should have come stock with the TRD from Toyota. It will definitely make it perform more like it looks. Yeah, a bit of whine, but controllable if you stay out of boost. As mentioned previously, it won't compete with the other cars your used too, even if you do all the other upgrade mods. I installed mine within 2 weeks of purchasing it about a year ago and I wouldn't have kept it if I didn't. I say, if you plan on keeping it, then go for it. You should enjoy the DD as much as the weekend warrior.

I haven't been keeping up with it for a while, but if there is a tuning option available for the 2013 trucks yet, the urd honestly is the way to go. Having personally owned a urd supercharged truck for 4 or 5 years I can tell you they are an absolute blast to drive and make tons of power down low for being a centrifugal. I believe urd has dyno sheets of their new system making as much or more torque down low than the trd system, and up top the power and torque skyrockets. My urd setup had almost 70k miles on it when I sold the truck and was still going like new.

Both the trd and the urd will make the truck much more fun to drive. But the urd just takes it even further. Like I said though, I'm not sure if the ucon is compatible with the 2013s yet, so you may not have much of a choice lol

I second this toyota would have sold more x runners if it came stock that and bigger front brakes it would have been the best truck out there and sold well but toyota is lame that way and don't wana get there feet wet

the x runner should have come this way track bar, supercharger, big front brake and never wet with that shitty ass auto lsd bull shit

I love my trd supercharger. I like the whine roots sc makes, that's the noise of boost/power. It's not crazy fast but like was mentioned easlier it makes the truck more fun to drive and makes decent power for a daily/work truck. I am very happy with it. Can always add a little shot of nitrous if you want more lol

Thanks all for replies and thoughts so far. The truck is put away for the winter (north jersey here). I figured I might as well drive my old truck (03 S10 xtreme) through the winter before I sell it.
As far as the XR goes, I've got almost everything I need so far waiting for my installation new in boxes. This includes a short shift kit, big brake kit, XII drop kit with QA1's, a new set of 285's on new wheels from tire rack, and a 8" alpine head unit, amp module, all the speakers plus a new 10inch sub and amp.
The last thing will be the supercharger, and from what I've read so far, I'll be pricing out and ordering a magnuson kit soon.
Thanks ahead for any other comments regarding long term use of these units, effects on engine longevity, etc

I just got the Magnuson from URD a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it. I have a fairly loud exhaust and can't notice the whine until about 4K rpm's and its the best thing I've ever heard! Its quiet when your cruising but if you want to hear it just give her a little more throttle its nothing but music under the hood

Sounds great, I'm pretty much decided I'll be buying one of these and installing it myself. I'm guessing the reflash of the ecu is the only thing I can't do myself. I would think any dealer can do that?

Yup. I installed mine in my garage, then limped it 30 something miles to the dealership. If you keep it under 2k RPM you'll be fine. I'm no mechanic, just a weekend wrencher and with the install guide and the Tacoma world write up it was cake. Make sure you call a couple weeks in advance to get an appointment. I had to drive mine further than I wanted to get the reflash because the closet dealer couldn't fit me in during the timeframe I.needed it done in.

I second on the early appointment time. It only takes an hour but getting an appointment can be lengthy depending on your local dealers schedule. I love your selection of planned mods. If you pockets are deep enough, There are alot of improvements to be made that will make it custom for you. Other ideas are black door inserts, boost and afr gauges, LED interior lights, LED bed lights, compass/temp overhead console, remote locking gas door, custom dash switches, catch can, towing hitch, weather tech, intake and exhaust etc...

Thanks for your reply. Was it installed when purchased and have you had any issues?
No, I've it installed around 1000 miles after I purchased the X brand new from Toyota dealer. Anh so far I don't have any issue.

If you're getting the Magnuson from URD then you don't need to refresh the ECU, it comes with a programmer from Bully dog that does the same thing.
