Hey guys,

My truck got hit hard in the rear on 11/28. Right in front of my house. Guy was going 50 and I was stopped waiting to turn left into my driveway. Needless to say, it's a total loss.

The truck is at IAAI near the Portland airport. The title sign off is nearly done and so the truck should go up for auction soon. The bed is destroyed and the right rear frame rail crushed. The bed also hit the cab. The engine area was untouched. I drove it into my driveway after being hit. The truck has a URD MK3 kit with 70mm pulley, Spec-U headers and exhaust, and a ton more on it. The kit is a year old and the headers/exhaust are 6 mo old. It ran fine after being hit. I kept meticulous records of my purchases so the guy's insurance paid me for every penny I had in the truck. I've decided I want to build an L96 truck so I'm walking away from it. PM me if you'd like the IAAI stock number. I highly doubt they know what they have. There's a deal to score.

I also have a few odds and ends to sell. Prefer local pickup in Portland metro area, but may ship on your dime. OBO on all prices. I'd rather see this stuff get use that sit around.

Set of 6 stock 1GR injectors: $100
Set of 6 61lb injectors (from URD MK3 kit), 4 months of use: SOLD
Set of 6 stock coils (work fine, replaced as PM and kept for spares): $60
Replacement belt (non SC), new: $10
Stock exhaust manifolds (cats good, 1 good O2 sensor incl, 1 busted stud): $100
Stock Y pipe (good cats and O2 sensors): $50
Stock DCSB exhaust with 2 chamber muffler welded in: $50
TRD neoprene seats covers, 9.5/10: SOLD
Weathertech floor mats, dirty but in good shape: $50 for front set, $75 for front and DC rear: SOLD
Toyota OEM tailgate handle backup cam, with tailgate harness, never installed: $100
Set of 4 2013 TRD Sport 17" wheels, w/ usable tires and OEM TPMS sensors: $300
StopTech rear stainless brake lines, new in package: $40
OEM TRD Carpeted floor mats, double cab, full set in great shape: $75
Stock front bumper and impact bar, needs paint: Offer, local only.

I'll add more to this post if I find anything else. Request pics and I'll add them here as well.

Thanks for the knowledge here guys. It's been a hell of a ride.

Damn, sucks to hear bud! Glad you're ok. Material things can be replaced. Happy to hear your insurance company did right by you. All to common that's not the case.

I had every receipt for anything I'd ever purchased for the truck, except for two. The truck was valuated twice by a 3rd party valuation company - once for my insurance, and once for the other guy's. His policy had lapsed for 2 days when he hit me, but ultimately they decided to cover him. Apparently on the second valuation the agent told the adjuster she remembered the truck because it was so well documented.

Save your receipts, boys and girls.

Your X did it's job and gave it's life for you.
Any ideas on what to get next?

I put a deposit down on a 2011 6.2L Silverado today. I fly out to pick it up and drive it home Monday. I need a little larger truck, and starting with 403hp doesn't hurt.

What year does the handle with backup cam fit and will it work with aftermarket unit

All 2nd gen Tacomas as far as I know. I bought the camera to adapt to an aftermarket deck. My understanding is you just change the plug.

Glad you're okay brotha!

Shoot me a PM.

It depends on your specific circumstance and your coverage. If your insurance has to pay, then your premium goes up. You may also not get as much back because of coverage limits.

The 21yo kid who hit me's policy was lapsed by 2 days on the day of the accident. I initially went through my insurance for medical and property loss. I ran into the $1000 limit for custom equipment on my policy pretty darned quick. Once we figured out that his insurance was going to cover him, I moved my claim to them. The difference in payout for my truck was around $8K.

He's very fortunate his insurance decided to step up. They've paid out nearly $40K already, and I haven't submitted my time off work yet. I only saw a doc twice. If he had no insurance, he'd have lawsuits from my insurance company and from me (for the difference) to deal with. I'd be terrified if I had to stare that down at 21.
