So my paint, like so many others, has started going to hell. I've already had my hood repainted twice, my flares replaced once, and I've also repainted my bumper, grille, and hood handles. I just wasn't willing to drop that much money on paint again.

My wife and I own a small vinyl business and I've been wanting to try my hand a full color-change vinyl wrap. What better test than to use my own vehicle? So I ordered a sample of a color that I thought would go well with Red (since the door jambs, engine bay and some other interior angles won't be wrapping) and tested it out.

Happy to say that it's a go. I'll be ordering the full roll very soon and slowly changing this beauty from Radiant Red to Metallic Gray.

Are you going to end up taking each body kit part off?

As tight as the weatherstrip is, I may have to. If I'm able to tuck it under the strip w/o removing, then would be ideal. IMO the biggest challenge will be the back of the cab. I will have to remove the bed... there simply isn't any other way to get good cover on the back of the cab and it's visible from the side of the truck. I haven't quite figured out how I'm gonna do that yet (remove the bed). I have some ideas but haven't decided on which way to go.

Love it! I have a few Festool pieces - the dust extractor, a router and a random orbital sander. Absolutely love all of them. I hope to be able to get a circular saw with a rail soon and maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to get their miter saw. I got to visit their facility in Indiana and see/demo a lot of tools. That miter saw is awesome.

I don't have any carbon fiber but could easily get it. Just to do the tailgate, you only need 1 yard x 60". I only bought one yard to test on the tailgate and mine was only $32. Get good quality, calendered vinyl from Avery or 3M. Don't buy cheap stuff or 1) it'll be a PITA to install and 2) it just won't last.

Taking the bed off is super easy. 3 clips one for each tail light and one for the power outlet. 6 bolts in the bed and then the gas cap has to be off and your good. It's easy and can be lifted off with as little as 3 ppl

I like your idea! I'll consider doing my own vinyl wrap project as well but will probably seek some professional help from Gatorwraps.
