So, i just got my RR XR and am definately going to mod it. One of my first mods will have to be a short throw shifter. The question is which one to chose. I am sure it's mostly personal preference but would like to hear some suggestions and pros/cons with the diff. types.

I've seen a few out there, it was just the matter of which one. There's trd, urd, b&m, and I know there's a post on here somewhere about how long each one's throw is, I just have to find it again. That and I need to change the release point on the clutch too, I saw the sticky on that, it shouldn't be too hard.

i would go TRD or B&M. not dissing URD or anything, but then you dont have to worry bout that rubber part that wears out and makes the shifter loose :top:

i got the B&M and i absolutely love it! however they are not produced anymore and chances of finding one are slim  so your really left with the URD and TRD as your viable options the difference in the two is with the TRD you won't have to remove it if you take it in for warranty work.

wasn't there another kinda esoteric SS someone had for sale on here they bought off eBay?

B&M hands down if you can get your hands on one.

I came from a URD shifter and like the B&M better. The URD was VERY nice also.

either way, all are great decisions. TRD is overpriced IMO

As others have said, B&M. It is hands down the best overall assembly, and shortest throw. If you can't get your hands on a B&M, go with the TRD.:top:

I bought a used URD SS and have had it for a while now, no issues what so ever. With a modded shifter handle, feel even better.
