Chrome Bumper

Can a chrome bumper be powder coated? My rear bumper is a nice bright chrome thing That i hate with a passion. I already had the front chrome grill replaced with a color matched version, but the rear bumper is still stock and nasty.

Opinions on options, only thing I dont want to do right now is get a new rear bumper...too much money for the rear of the truck. :biggrin:

you might want to trade for a painted flat black bumper like the ones on the base model truck, and paint that...not too sure bout painting chrome

as long as the chrome is stripped off or ruff there shouldn't be a problem.

Or you could do a search online about powercoating.

idk im sure someone more experienced with that'll chime in, not to sure bout that sorry haha

but idk your easiest bet would be finding someone to trade...might even find someone that wants to trade a sport bumper too

i would think if you were able to get it sand blasted that woud be able to prime and paint it just fine! its just a guess but thats what i think! ya i dont care for the chrome ones either!

sports bumper?

I dont think theres any difference in shape between the various trims, just the material and finish. May be wrong there though. Unless you talking bout the XR rear bumper with the added trim...which I dont want either way haha.

he's saying see if anyone with a TRD sport in a bsp wants to trade for a chrome bumper.

isnt the TRD Sport package bumper identical to the TRD off Road and Prerunner bumper? I dont recall seeing a difference in design and looks.

no. TRD Sport's come with all the color-keyed parts like the X.. minus the body kit.

They're the same bumper like mentioned above... the only difference is one is color matched and the other is chrome
