So with the truck sitting for as long as it has, the battery is shot. So its time to replace it.

Your thoughts.. ?

I just put a yellow top optima in a few mos. ago. The only con I know of is fitment. You will
have to lengthen one cable. When we were loading maps in the maf cal the key was on all
day with doors open. Everybody thought I was gonna need a charge but nope, fired right off!

Keep in mind that Braille also offers their Endurance line. It is nearly identicle to the Optima series. The difference is in the fine details.
If you want the Braille Light weight battery keep in mind that it can't last as long like the other. They do have between 750-1300 cranking amps though, in those small sizes.
If you want to play your radio for hours on end with the truck off, I'd say the larger batteries make common sense.

I vote redtop. The braille battery looks too small to me. Getting either battery in the hopes of saving weight is a futile attempt at best

Just get whatever you want, but I say Optima so it looks proportionate in the engine bay.

I have both Braille & Optima. Redtop is in my parent's van, good stuff. I'd pick Braille for the truck mostly to the weight saving benefit. Defenitely noticeable improvement, especially in quick switchback. Longevity is to be determine but so far so good.

A friend recently bought a braile battery for his drag car it , he is very unhappy with it, from what he told me he paid close to 2 grand for it and was trying to return it...no go, so now he is considering getting an attorney involved.
I have used the optima battery in my drag truck for 6 years and have never had any issues.

I've never owned a braille battery but if going with optima go with redtop. Yellowtops are unneccesary in most cars unless you have a very large sound system or are running a lot of electronic items(i.e.fans, pumps, etc.).:top:

Well a quick decision had to be made, and with overnight shipping, a braille battery is on its way.

But with all the good feed back that people are giving with the redtop, I may pick up one of those next, and compare the two myself.

Thanks guys. :top:

Cause while some people claim to be neither lover nor hater of him they still LOVE to say his name:laugh:

as far as the battery is concerned I would get a Oddysey before I bought any of the 2 options. Or at least the Sears twin for $80 cheaper. Oddysey is a super duper battery, made like no other.

What about the Kinetik line of batteries. Anyone had any experience with those?? I had one a few years ago that worked great and it would match up with a BSW really nice.

Braille all the way. If you look at the specs, they are just as powerful as the Optimas, just not as much reserve power for those with big systems or those who listen to the stereo with the engine off. Don't let the small size scare you away.

I'm running two Carbon Fiber Brailles in my Supra. B2015C's, 15lbs each.
