first make sure ur parking break is off then just hit it with a hammer pretty much or theres 2 screws you can put bolts in and zap it off just make sure u dont run the bolts in all the way

yes run 2 bolts theres 2 holes on each drum and it will push the drum out how many miles do you have that you need to replace your shoes most of the time you just need to clean and adjust them

to get the rite amount of brake to the back they only turn a quarter turn when u pull the parking brake thats the only adjusting they do which is not much so you have to adjust them yourself to make sure that they are properly adjusted

ya there probly squeaking because there dirty and you need to clean them and grease up the points behind the shoes and its not to hard on back brakes if you have never adjusted them because that means most of your braking force is going to the front trust me bro i work on them all day long if you have any more questions dont hesitate to ask im a certified toyota tech to

oh realy ... i got a better question for you then..... in january i had my truck at the dealer about a shifting issue in 5th gear a tranny specialist said that my syncro was bad.... but all they did was replace a shift fork
and made me pay for a new clutch and TOB (which i had already replaced both of them with a stage 2 competition clutch and a factory TOB in 2009) but now im having a slight grind in every gear but 2nd and my extended warranty is up.... you think i can get the dealer to go back in and take care of the mess ?
(by the way i told them i thought the syncro's were going bad as i was advised )

January it hasnt been a year yet
well they swore up and down that the clutch and TOB was bad...
and were hinting at telling the warranty company that the transmission was damaged due to abuse....
but i had that problem in 5th gear ever since i bought it used with 20,000 miles on it but it started getting realy bad and broke the shift fork... i was skipping 5th gear all together for over a year

but i know that the tech saw the service bulletin on the TOB and said THATS IT. must be that....
i had to go back and forth with them arguing finally i just paid for it

i just dont want to take it back to those same morons.....
after i dropped it off the first call i got was....
"your clutch is slipping. and i smell burnt clutch plates...."
i know what clutch plates smell like i raced motocross for 20 years....
somebody burns up a clutch every weekend at a motocross track...
and i had never smelled my plates burning....
so i lit into the guy i knew the moron was dragging the clutch cause
it was a performance clutch and kinda grabby i was so mad
then he says
"and your TOB is bad"
.... i said no it isnt i just put a new one in less than a year ago...!

ya they wanted money out of you then that is how some dealers are thoe i hate to say it but if you have no extended warranty left or facotry then theres gunna be no other way to fix it but cash if you take it to a diff dealer you should call them and see what they wanna do first and make sure they dont charge you for a diag fee

i had brought my truck in a few months before i put CC clutch and TOB in cause i was hearing a squeek (the TOB) but i didnt know what it was.... they told me they couldnt hear a squeek.... i had just got my dual exhaust made and figured it was rubbing on the spare cause it was a tight fit.... so i got under there tweeked the hangers got some belt dressing, maybe it was the belt... didnt know... then i noticed it was only when the clutch was only when the clutch was engaged at low RPM then a year after i replaced the TOB they come out with a service bulletin that would have paid for it... but my truck was already past the 65000 miles

well the updated TOB hasnt squeeked yet... TOB #3

thats the only reason i caved and paid for the clutch and TOB
cause it had a different part# so i figured they must have changed something

if you have 80K on them then it is time to replace them. I have 50K on my truck now and they are getting close.

I have the bolts you use to get the drum off, but I forgot the thread pitch they are. It is near impossible to get our drums off without those bolts
