Yeah - glad that everyone, including yourself, were okay. Kudos to the pilots too because a landing with only 2 gear down can be very dangerous. My guess would be they were dumping fuel from White Plains to JFK as well because if that wing had ruptured under load and there were any fuel in it.... metal on runway = sparks = bad news.

Did they charge you extra for the excitement?
It is out of the ordinary, but really not such a big deal. This type of landing is well practiced in the simulator and the aircraft is reinforced in the contact areas so it can skid like it did in the event it has to make landing without all the wheels down. That plane will be back in service sooner than you think.

We had a Queen Air jump plane at the drop zone I hung out at. It landed gear up when the pilot could not get the gear down.
Sheet metal damage was repaired in a few days, but they had to hang new engines because of the prop strikes. That part gets expensive, but that is what insurance is for. I was jumping out of it about 10 days later.

The right landing gear malfunctioned and could not be lowered.
I enjoyed it and think I was about the only one who did. :rock: I was bouncing up and down when I got off the plane and looked around as I stood on the runway. It was a gorgeous clear night and too much fun to stand on a runway with the plane propped up on one wing behind me. Lots of folks were crying after wards I just wanted to get going cause my Uncle was waiting in White Plains for me.
