Hello, i want to hook up some led strips along side my console, however i want them to operate when you open the door and, go off when you shut the door. The only way i see to do this is would be a major hassle, does anyone know of an easier way without running wires through the door into the door switch? Thank you.

Not if you wire it before the dome light switch.

I've got mine wired to the dome light, under seats, dash, and some in my tails! That way can turn them all on anytime my dome on not just door open! There is a wire in door seal on floor by driver seat too but don't remember the color! I know there couple posts bout it and a relay u can hook in, I got all the info somewhere but will have to try and find it!

Here is a link on what I did....I will add little to the write up here. I ran the ground for the dome light to a 3way switch and then ran another always ground to the 3way switch so they operate with the dome light or I can turn them on whenever I want..

You can also use a relay and wire it to the door(s) negative trigger. That way it will come on when you open the doors. I did this not to long ago. Looks and works great.
