The ones that I was looking at on taco tune is $85 or something. I could just go to home deport and get a sheet of MDF for $20 or $25. Thanks for the good idea guys.

Wow I just looked and your right. I ordered the component set and they were only 20$ with the set. I'd say make your own. If you have a
Router you could buy some cheap plastic cutting boards and make a full set outta them for around 15-25$. Creative thinking. Lol.

Jig saw would work too. You would have to do a little more sanding then with a router but it will get the job done.

Honestly dont rush it, but if you start friday night, you should be able to get done by sunday night. But being your first time, you may want some extra help, and extra hands are nice for sound deadning

Be careful with distro blocks and really any of those connections with the set screws, you dont want to over tighten and strip out the threads in them, or round out the head(less likely with higher quality stuff, but you still wanna watch it)

Another "?". Lol

Speaker wire for sub, I have heard of 8g wire being to big and eventually pulling out of connector thing a ma jigs on sub over time and that using some 10g wire will solve the issue of wire pull out. What size would you all recommend? Also is anyone using bananna plugs and or plugs to connect to sub, if so what kind? Likes and dislikes on plugs/wire gauge size for sub.
Also what size wire is recommended for the doors? 10,12,14? I'd like to not have to worry about the wires frying because they are to small. Thanks fellas

for the subs 10 to 12 is good, just make sure they are good quality and have good insulation.

Door (speaker) wires you will prolly use 14 to 16, any smaller and you will lose signal strenght, any thicker its gonna be a b!tch to run thru the gromits. Also if your gonna do it right, dont put the CROSS OVERS in the doors or any where near them, the mositure will kill them trust me on this.

Run them into the cubbys under the rear seats or you can pull that box out and put them under that depending on the size you have about 2 inches of clearance.

Thanks for the info. I was originally going to go with 8 gauge wire to the sub but heard from a friend that 10 g was a better choice because it seats better on the connectors. 8g pulls out over time with vibrations I guess.
Has anyone used banana plugs for there subs or is this more for the home receiver type deal? I seen a set on knukonceptz and was wondering if they would plug into my sub, or are these just a higher grade RCA cable?
I also plan on running the cross overs somewhere in the cab, maybe under center console but I like your idea^^^^ under the rear seats. Will running that distance of wire affect the quality of sound to components? I just heard you always want to keep wires as short as possible.
Here is a few pics of the sub cable,

12 gauge will be more than enough to the sub. And for the speakers like he said 16 gauge will be fine. Those sub cables there look more like the sub cables for home theater systems.

Just try to keep in mind through the whole wiring process to keep any wires that carry audio signals (RCA's, speaker wire) as far away as possible from any high current wiring. Its a good idea to kind of lay it all out before hand, that way you can see whats going on and whether or not the way you want to run the wiring is the best way.

I think I'm going to run power down center console, rca's under passenger side sills along with components speaker wire. With the 4 ch amp I'm going to have to find a way to cross the wires from passenger or driver side over to amp since it will be under seat. Maybe just run down the sills and under carpet and Pop a Lil hole for them to pop out next to amp. I still have to decide witch amp under what seat. I'm thinking sub amp drivers side and 4ch passenger side.

Like justin said you dont want to put the crossovers under the console. too many current wires under there. YOu will run the risk of interference.

YOu dont really have to worry about signal wire lenght because you are running amps to all speakers. if you were running from a HU then yes you would want to keep them as short as possible for better signal strength. BUT if you get some good quality wires, length is not an issue.

I re-did all the wiring in my truck and ran 95 feet of speaker wire all down the door sills. my system sound clean and clear.

Those cables are for HOME THEATER SUBS. use coax connections to wire them to the receiver. they only allow signal going ONE direction. not really good for car audio.

I ran the RCA's 3 sets and the Pwr/Grd/remote all under the middle console. I just ran them along the sides of the hump not the top. RCA's on the pass side and pwr/grd/remote down drivers side. had zero issues with interference.

Wow that's alot of wire. I do plan on running all new wire so it looks like I have to pick up another spool. I have about 50'.
I'm gonna do like you guys advise and run rca's and speaker wire away from power and ground and probably run the cross overs under rear seats.

Got 10' of ten gauge for the sub, alot thicker than I expected but should do the trick. Knukonceptz has some quality wiring. Should be getting my box sometime the week after next. Then the HU and 4ch amp will be all I need.

I went over kill and got 10g for everything lol. But I got a different type that lays flatter than that one. I have found all of their stuff to be great.

Yeah dude 10 gauge is thick as hell for speaker wire lol. It's better to over do it though. Most of the kicker kits come with 14 gauge I believe.

I thought of getting that flat stuff but thought it was more based for home entertainment.

The 10g I got will only be used for the sub. I have some wire I got with my components from taco tunes but I think it's 16 or 18 gauge. I'm thinking of getting some 14 for the doors

Hey Lee where did you pick up the material for the speaker mounts? Can I get it at Homodepot?
