Too many different scenarios to comprehend to be able to give a valid response, but I hope that it isn't a major repair

Also try the inspection cover, underneath the transmission. To look at the clutch.

That's not a knock.... That sounds like a chatter more than anything. Could be in the valve train... Have you pulled your valve covers off yet? I would start by doing the easy things first like pulling the inspection cover off and looking at your clutch... Then if everything looks fine there I would pull your valve covers off.... Sounds a lot like valve clatter though.... If its in the valve train its loudest at 2500.... If its a knock then its loudest at 3k.... That doesn't sound anything like a knock though.... A knock has a deeper sound than that.... that sounds like chatter which is why I believe its valve clatter.... Then again we need a better sounding quality video... It has the potential to be a knock...

Remember that valve train noise occurs at half the engine speed. Unless you have a lot of valve train problems at the same time that really sounds like it is happening at engine speed. In that case it is likely in the lower end.

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!

So i have found the source of my "tack", and i would not belive it unless i saw it.

The source IS the TOB, i do not know the cause of this failure, but i took off the inspection cover and noticed a shiny grove on the TOB, i started the truck and with the cover off the noise was twice as loud, i watched the TOB and it is just "wobble'n" and "shaking" on the input shaft, that is whats casuing the "tacking", id assume that it still has enough pressure on it between the pressure plate and fork to still work and let me engage the clutch. as far as i know, i have no clue what the actual failure is, maybe a siezed or snapped /cracked TOB..?

i only hope that it didnt chew up the input shaft...

it will be a while till i can pull the trans out to see what actually broke..

I have a video, but the video kinda put it in a "slo mo" but you can still kinda see it moving around, its pretty obvious in person the this is my failure..

Didn't you say you had that TOB repair kit already done?

No, i replace the TOB and upgraded to a centerforce stage 2 about a year and a half ago, i thought about getting the TOB repair kit from URD but didnt see the need for it with no damage at the time..

diffrent story now..lol

Good find! I know that takes a load off of the shoulders. Good ole inspection cover. Woot!

Just replaying the memory of my last engine's rod knock sound compared to yours never added up the same. So I am just glad it wasn't knock. :top:

Haha.. I know, I thought it was rod knock when it first happen but like you said, nothing really added up for it to be. Now when I get her fixed that's all I'm going to think about...lol

Hey.. like I said when I turboed it , its either going to go, or blow...hehe.

You're not driving it around like that right? My TOB went and in the process created a chain reaction that took out my pressure plate, clutch, and flywheel. Wouldn't want to see you lose a brand new upgrade clutch.

Do you happen to have a picture of that with the engine off?

I wonder if it is those goofy weights they put on the fingers of the pressure plate.

No.. not driving it like this...haha.

I will see about getting another picture and or better video this week. Ya those weights on the pressure plate were just a bad idea from centforce...

If that is what it is, you might be able to get in there and yank them out through the inspection cover.

Lets hope that is what it is and you don't have to drop the trans to get it out.

I don't think the failure is because of the weights. But who knows, I'd still like to pull it just to be on the safe side. Ya its going to suck, but at least ill know for sure what the failure is if I pull it.

Well you can see something spinning around in there that is not normal. The only thing that could be in that location is those goofy weights. A still picture should shed some light on it.

Ahh. That makes sense now.

Any idea how much power that intercooler is rated for?
