Gadget,

Is the Mk3 Stage 3 available for 03-09 4runners?

I know you were running a rotrex on your 3rd Gen, is there a a marketable kit for the 3rd Gen's with the 3.4?

I'm looking at an 09 1gr and a 99 3.4 manual currently.

Thanks,

Chris.

We have the Mark3 supercharger kit with the UCON EMS ready to ship for the 2005-2009 4Runner V6.

With a special order we can do the 2003-2004 also. Due to the different cam angle sensors we will need to modify the UCON EMS to work with those sensors. Has been done, simple.

If you are looking at a 4th Gen I would steer you to the 2005-2009. They have the better VVTi and the 5 Speed Adaptive automatic transmission.

We will have a system for the older 5VZ trucks soon I hope. Having one hell of a time getting a foundry to make the needed cast mounting bracket. I get a quote, get a sample, approve it, place the large order and they then jack the price 2-3 times over the original quote. This has happened 4 times now. At least I get to drive mine!!

Out of the 3rd and 4th Gen 4Runners I would recommend the 4th Gen. It is a very nice vehicle with a very high build quality. The 3rd Gen is also nice, but if you drive both you will get the 4th Gen.

I still think the 3rd Gen is the best looking 4Runner ever.

I agree. The only thing I can find wrong so far is the tan interior on the 99. But it's manual and 4wd with no E-locker. The 09 is nice but it would feel just like building the X-Runner all over again since most of the drivetrain parts are the same. Are there any Stage 3 4runners out there yet?

Never did a Stage 3 4Runner, officially.

I just upgraded my 06 to stage 2.

Did an FJ stage 3 manual here. That was just scarey to drive. I almost rolled it over 3 times in one day. Gave it back to the customer in stage 2.

URD will not officially do a stage 3 FJ or 4Runner, but I know a few customers have pieced it together themselves.

Gadget,

Do you think that the Borla Dual exhaust system flows enough to support stage 2?

Yes.

I am running the stock cat-back on mine still with the DTLT and URD Y pipe.

Very quiet in cruise, like stock which I like. I need at least one quiet vehicle.
