Is anyone running a DJM kit without cutting the notch in the frame? I thought that I saw someone that is doing it a while back and now I can't find that thread. Any help will be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

I don't have the notch. I removed the stock bump stop bracket and drilled a hole in the frame for a low profile bump stop.

That’s what I am planning on doing then I over thought it and thought I bought the wrong set up. Cool.

Just notch it! Even with moving the bump stop to the frame and ditching the bumpstop bracket ur gonna bottom out with a 2" block unless u run QA1's set at an über hard setting. If u don't mind bouncing all over the place then do it, gonna be even worse with 3" and 4" blocks. I just did a notch and I run 2" blocks, can't stand a bouncy ride myself and now I can run the shocks on a softer setting. I also added longer bumpstops to stop my track bar from hitting the charcoal canister.
I also had 2.5" blocks with the bumpstop on the frame but had to run my shocks almost maxed out and still bottomed out too much. It's up to u

I thought about it but I was advised not to on my daily due to extra wear that it will cause. Plus I don’t know anyone around here with a welder.

QA1s are on the list of things to buy before I put in the DJM. That way I can just do it all at once.

you can definitely do without the notch but you're bound to bottom out. having the extra travel on your shocks is important if you're going to ride it hard. not fun bottoming out around a corner and bouncing off the stops. with stock shocks on my 05 2.7L taco i bottomed out with the c-notch and had to put better shocks on

if you are going to go DJM it makes no sense to not run the notch. Even with QA1's on the stiffest setting with the right bump youll bottom out with no notch. not to mention the shitty quality of the ride. Do your research i am more than positive you can find a quality shop to weld it in for you. If you really aren't willing to notch it then DJM might not be the best option for you.

Remember also the Hawaii guys don't run a notch because their truck will be deemed to have frame damage or something like that, they can chime in and tell u why

I am thinking that my game plan as of right now will be to install without and see how the ride is for a week or so. Just sent emails to three custom suspension shops here in J'ville to see what they want. All these shops do hydos or lift, so we will see if they can do it. If there is anyone near Jacksonville, FL and has a welder and Is willing to help a brother out I will be willing to drive your way and give you a 12 pack for helpin.

Like what Murderface was going at, we can't get recon if we notch our frame. (Stupid vehicle law only in Hawaii... i mean OAHU!) There are also cases where people getting salvage title for frame modification.

I thought i heard someone saying you could get recon if you have the C-notch welded in. but then again, the guys over there are pretty anal and grumpy.

I just got two quotes back out of three shops I emailed and they both came back at $500 to $1000 to just weld in the notch.

Yeah, with all the certified welder, paper work and shlt. Too much hassle for just recon, in my opinion.

Yea, that does sounds like more of just a headache.

A guy at work just informed me that they go have a welder at the hobby shop on base. So Tuesday I will swing by on the way in to work and see what's up with that but still looking for someone in the community to help me out.
