Why deer really suck

Just thought I would share my recent bit of misfortune. I live in western PA just east of Pittsburgh. Anyone that is familiar with this area knows that there are a lot of deer and that you always have to be on the lookout when driving. I was heading to work Tuesday morning, came around a bend in the road and bam, deer. I slammed on the breaks and turned the wheel, but it was no use. Entirely at the wrong place at the wrong time. So, I it's not an X or even my FJ, but again thought I would share. Have had it for 5 months. Been waiting and saving forever to purchase my first 'summer driver'. Damn luck!

To add insult to injury, actually this made me chuckle a little, I was trying to figure out where the hell the 'mud' came from that’s on the car. I was wondering what could have been on the deer that transferred to the car. As I was looking at it, I realized that it was in a pretty straight line and that it's pretty close to where the deer’s butt probably ended up as I hit its front shoulder... Yep, the dear crapped on my car! Actually I would say it more like had a blow out on my car.

All I have to say is freakin' deer.

A shot of how far the crap traveled. I actually have some back on the antenna!

...lastly a picture of how it looked in better times.

:hmmmm2: I see 'em. Ha, maybe that doesn't mean anything since I'm the originator. I used the insert photo button and added the links. Maybe it's because I just posted it a minute ago? If no one else can see the pics I will try to repost. I'll chalk that one up to bad luck continuing or maybe just not as swift as I think I am!

I can see the pics on my phone now just fine. That sucks though man. I've hit a deer before and its crazy how much damage they can do. All the grass in the world they could be on but they decide they want to be on the road right in front of you...The only thing they're good for is to eat

On a side note I'm usually no fan of mustangs but that is a damn nice one you got there.

It seems that I figured out what I did wrong with the pictures last night.

Thanks to everyone for the condolences. I was really pissed when it happened and went through the 'if only I had left a minute earlier or later' phase for about an hour, but at the end of the day it happened and there is nothing to change that now. No one was hurt (well except the deer... moment of silence please lol), and there were no other vehicles involved. As Canadian Girl said, it will be fixed. It's now more the hassle of dealing with insurance and repair shop and hoping they do it right and will it look as good and will I take a bath now if I sell it... Sorry, lost it there for a moment. An adjuster is looking at it this morning so wish me luck with that. I haven't had the best experiences with adjusters in the past.

As for this being a Mustang, like most cars, you either love them or hate them. I've been a fan of the body style for the last few years. In my opinion the last couple of model years, mine's a 13, were the first ones to look and perform well enough to need really no modifications. Also didn't hurt with what Ford included for the Boss package. The jumping in point is in the 390 whp range and its all upside from there. As Zacksblack pointed out, you can do some really insane stuff with these cars. Although i've no plans to mod soon as Ford is a real stickler for mods and warranty. All I can say is awesome car and the first truly non 'practical' car I've ever bought. Alright, enough with my rant on Mustangs. This is an X-Runner forum after all...

Like I said in my first post, I've been waiting for years to get some V8, rear wheel drive, 'what the hell do you need that for' car. Now that I've got one, bam, deer.

I just noticed the earlier question about 'mud' stains in my pants, ha! Luckily no code brown that morning. Although I will admit that I remember yelling out 'ahhhhhhh' as it happened.

I assure you all, it was a very manly, deep voiced yell.

It's ok to admit you screamed like a little school girl!

That does suck though. But, that's what insurance is for.

I'm about 25 miles or so NE of the city. Right up Rt. 28. I live outside of a town called Leechburg. Pretty close to New Kensington / Freeport area.

I feel for all the guys and gals that ride motorcycles in this area. You've a hard enough time just watching for cars that don't pay attention let alone deer. I can't imagine hitting one with a bike!

The adjuster just finished and $7500 in damage from what he could see in my driveway!
