So this might be a stupid question but what do exhaust manifolds have to do with emissions? If the cats are toast then I can see your hydrocarbon count being that high. They told you the manifolds are shot or the cats? Are you running O2 SIMs with the stock manifolds or did you go back to the stock O2's? Shouldn't you be getting a code on bad cats? Why are they sniffing your vehicle if it's back to stock or is that a Cali thing?Exhaust gurus, please help this guy out.
they told me the cats in the manifolds were bad, im not sure why these would get a higher count than my dtlt but i have the oem o2s and they are brand new since one went bad i just replaced them both, and the truck had a cel with the lt but now its running perfectly with no cel so im puzzled as to why that is, im just runnin out of options the truck is in perfect condition and its not passing my fiancees 97 4runner passes with flying colors no problems and its just a shame toyota made these trucks manifolds so damn expensive. i went to a different shop and they told me the gas might be running too rich so im trying to burn this fuel off (cant just drain it bc is wont clean up off the internal engine) and they told me to put $10 of reg gas on it burn that off and put more cheap gas on it and bring it back...idk seems like a long shot but im willing to try anything at this point:frown:
