It's nice, but not for long. A couple weeks at most in direct sun. And if you use a car wash then it won't last through it.
A trick commonly used around here to battle the sun is to use black shoe polish, with a ton of elbow grease, to get it to really sink into the plastic.
Not only does it look great, but it is very durable and the longevity is about once every 6 months, as opposed to once every 2-3 weeks.

I tend to use it every other wash and it always looks great. During this heat wave though it has been awhile since I washed it and boy the plastics look like crap. Re applied it today and it looks like a new truck again. The only time it's washed off on me is if it rains within a day or two after I put it on.

Back to Black vs Wipe New

I've tried Back to Black but it never lasted longer than a few days before the plastic started fading again. I bought some of that As Seen On TV stuff, Wipe New. That stuff blows Back to Black out of the water! I've had it on now for about a week and it still looks damn good. It still looks like I just did it on the first day after application. Anybody want my bottle of Back to Black? 'Cuz it's going to the trash. I used it on my tonneau cover, too. Totally worth the money (19.95) and more.

is this the product for the wipe new?

[ame]http://www.amazon.com/Wipe-New-WN6PCMSTRRT-Trim-Restorer/dp/B00AYXM4DY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383940095&sr=8-1&keywords=wipe+new[/ame]

the reviews on it seem mixed, but I see a lot of "bottle is to small" reviews.

that it's. WIPE NEW. you won't be disappointed. it is a small bottle, but you really don't need a lot. you can do all your outside trim with one bottle, but you'll probably want to get more to do other stuff. i used 2 1/2 bottles to do my tonneau cover, bumpers, and trim. it even takes overspray off and fixes scratches that aren't too deep.

I used the "Like New" a couple of weeks ago. Installation is a little more involved, but works really well.

Wipe New update...

it's been 10 months since i first used Wipe New on my trim. i've used handwashing and carwashes. haven't needed to reapply yet. this really is the best stuff i've seen. very little difference, if any.
