I've done my research and I'm 99% sure now that I have had Stevenredx's old truck for the past year. Too many coincidences not to be. I'm just getting around to doing some mods and it looks like I'll be reinstalling a lot of the things he removed before selling. I hope he's doing well and I would really enjoy talking to him. I've noticed he's not active on the board anymore but I'd be very happy if someone could help me get in touch or point him to this thread. I tried to pm him but his inbox is full.

Gadget,
I just ordered the tcai intake, maf pcu, wideband, and short shifter from you this past week. Turns out my pass through trimming is already done. I've always wondered if this truck already had a short shifter since I can't remember when I was test driving trucks. I was gonna find out when I tore it apart and wanted to be prepared. That's one thing I'd like to ask Steven.

A picture of his truck with the URD TCAI is on the images tab for the TCAI product description on the URD site. It is the one with the red cam covers.

Gadget,
Do you remember if he ever installed a calibration unit? It looks like to me he didn't and the only old removed splices I see at the ECU had to do with the vss wire and his navigation unit.

Short shifter is in. Pretty obvious now it was a stock shifter tip to tail put back in. All alignment dowels were missing, but no big deal. A coupe shifter will probably need to come next.

Yes, I have read through at least a little of most all of 'em. The deal is he removed most everything before getting rid of the truck. I couldn't find anything on him installing a calibrator.

The sound deadening stuff is still all over the truck. It's pretty funny to find that stuff behind everything.

I was sure it was someones truck when I bought it because it was obviously modified a lot and then undone. Not important to me, the key was it was the cleanest and best condition of all I checked out regardless of mileage.

I still chat to Steven's wife periodically via Facebook. I'll reach out to her and see if we can get him to pop in on this thread for a second.

Blast from the past. That was a clean X and had nice wheels. He also put synthetic in the tranny and diff and changed out the gauge led lights. Also did some dome light work too

Glad to see my truck has fallen in to some caring hands. My wife just mentioned this thread to me and I was telling her if it was mine someone got lucky with all the sound deadening material. I believe that was about all I couldn't take off. I can't remember for sure but I think I left the aftermarket crank, alt and water pump pulley on too. It did have the sos drop with the custom rear blocks but the dealership called me a couple days later saying the new owner hated the ride (rode exactly the same as stock, lol) so i took my stock perches for them to change out for him. I'm thinking he didn't keep the truck tho. I will tell you the truck was overly maintained, i wish I could tell you I had some other goodies still Installed but other than dash led change out and the dome light rewiring. Oh yeah, the factory alarm system with a couple little added features I installed as well. I would love to talk to you and here the journey my old truck has been through. My inbox is full as you already know so if you would pm my wife and give her your number and I'll give you a call.

Steven,
Awesome! Pm'ed your wife's account.

The drop is still on the truck. Perches up front and blocks out back. There is a vacuum gauge and non-working narrowband in the a-pillar gauge pod.

I had a buddy ride in the thing a while back and he commented how crazy quiet it was. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but I guess he has a good ear.

I got it a year ago at 90k miles when I retired my '98 as a dd and have mostly just kept up with maintenance. Finally sold my old 2000 diesel and have some room to work on it now.

I'm interested in the exhaust that's left and what infrastructure might be left over from prior gauge installs. Other than the stuff I just got I only plan to add my traction control until and maybe a couple more URD goodies while keeping it as a clean dd.

Call me anytime.

K2,
Thanks again.

While I was browsing Steven's friends for his wife's account I saw a Hokie avatar that maybe looked like your wife? I'm a Hokie myself and was in Blacksburg from 1999 through 2011.

The exhaust was just a 14" magnaflow. I had a plx gauge setup with custom buttons on the a-pillar but all that was stripped out when I sold it. So I'm not real sure what's going on with the gauges u got in it now. The narrowband would be more for looks and the same for the vacuum. I'll try to give u a call sometime tomorrow evening after work.
