Not really sure PSI, I'm guessing around 7-8 PSI. Not sure what stage of a URD kit he's got.

Here's a nice picture of the Prado for which I upgraded the transmission valve body:

A small update, the Prado owner has been doing a lot with his upgraded transmission. He raised the boost in his URD kit by installing a 70 mm pulley, up to (edit: 12) PSI, and put on the original smaller tires and plastic bumper, and went racing in Qatar. In a Half a mile (800 meter) race, he was able to pull a trap speed of 198 Km/h. That is seriously impressive, considering a Mustang GT 5.0 pulled a 202 Km/h trap speed, so he was just at the tail of the 'stang. Transmission held up amazingly well. And BTW, that's in summer.

Well, we can do a larger injector and install a C38 series supercharger and see what happens.....

There is plenty of intercooler head room left!!

So I was reluctant to share this Video, since all the comments are in Arabic, but now I think the heck with it, it is self-explanatory. One of the guys who accompanied the owner is a video producer and produced this short video of our work, with traditional Arabic theme in the background. I'm the guy in the coverall:

My last name is misspelled.

The guy killed his engine. He overboosted it without doing proper tuning on the Haltek for the new boost levels. He put on a 70 mm pulley and cracked a piston, evaporated all his oil and the engine was gone. But that wasn't my work, I'm glad the transmission held up.

I was sent in your direction to ask a couple of questions about the level 10 valve body kit. First of all, will installing this kit be just as good as if I were to send the valve body out to get redone by level 10? Second, level 10s website states that they "carefully select your spring weights and orifice sizes to design the perfect valve body for the way that you drive" how will they be able to do this with a premade kit, or do they make custom kits for how you drive?

Hi,

The kit is specifically tuned to handle high power applications, such as a TRD supercharger. They actually say it is for a TRD-supercharged vehicle. What I can tell you is that it works. It really makes the shift very fast and instant, and makes the transmission able to handle much more power, up to twice the power of the standard transmission.

I'm not sure how different is it from when you send your valve body in; what I think is that when you send your valve body in, they will upgrade it for you depending on how you want it. For example, if you do drag races, they will upgrade it to give you maximum acceleration, but will compromise on comfort. If you want it smoother and more comfortable then they will do it for that.

I believe if you ask them to upgrade it for more power but smooth operation, like with a TRD or URD supercharger installed, they will just install the kit they sell. The rest of the money is for labor and core exchange.

In my opinion, the difficult part is removal of the valve body. Installing the kit is easy and fun, albeit quite messy. If you are afraid of messing up, have them do it for you.

Update, the owner has installed a built 1GR engine, with 8:1 CR, bumped the power up to 375 HP on the wheels. So far the transmission is holding up beautifully.

That's close to my cr my motors going to be. What did he build, just Pistons and rods? How much psi is he running?

He's got the URD kit with a 70 mm pulley, he said he's making 12 PSI. I guess that's the limit of the URD kit, as you can't go any smaller than 70 mm. But he is testing on all four wheels, the Prado is a permanent 4WD SUV.

He bought the motor built from the UAE, he's not very technically savvy, so he wouldn't know the details.

Also I believe his very low CR is resulting in some loss of power. Had he had a 10:1 CR, he would have made the 420 HP.

Damn 12 psi only brought him to 375. Thanks for the info. That kinda gives me a gauge on what to expect.
