Does anyone know the torque specs on the bearing cap bolts, as well as the 3rd member bolts?

May be worth double checking the service manual buti think Bearing caps are 80ftlbs. Third member bolts are 18 ftlbs are you going with the 3.31 gear swap? Looking forward to hearing how it feels. I am doing a 3.73 swap just waiting for my carrier bearings to show up to install my truetrac

Yeah, im installing a Truetrac in the 3.31 rear end. I ordered bearings and the Truetrac last week from East Coast Gear. Where can I get my hands on a factory service manual and how much are they? I guess I could always pick up a cheap Haynes manual, Id rather have a factory one though.

Just courious but the 3.31 is the same size third member as the x. Correct? So can't fit bigger gears in their right?

I really have no idea. I bought this 3rd member without too much research because it seemed like a great price. It seems like there is a lot of confusion out there on these Tacoma rear ends.

Edit: oops, didnt realize that was from page 1. On my phone

From what I have read can't go 3.58 without using a ring gear spacer. I picked up my 3.73 end for 200 bucks :canada:
