Can someone please give me some info on how vehicle inspection is like ? ive been informed they fail you for tints, bad tires, broken tie rod ,etc. was wondering if they would give me problems with 2 air equipped vehicles with one of them NA-T. whats should i look out for ?

thanks in advance

I'm in Pittsburgh. I've never heard of anyone failing a state inspection due to tint. I have been pulled over for it though, but only twice in 20 years. I've also never had a problem with getting lifted or lowered vehicles inspected. You need good tires, brakes, all lights need to work, suspension components need to be not worn out and free of excessive play. Other than that they never seem to care. That being said I've never had a car or truck lowered so much that it has insane neg camber or anything like that.

Been in PA my whole life, as long as you stay away from the major chain places they will usually pass your truck as longs as its safe. Never had a problem with tint or suspension, but they will fail you for safety things like bald tires, no brake pad left, healight/tailghts out, etc. Had a place last year fail me for a stupid liscense plate light that was burnt out but that's because it was a major chain that checked off everything on their list.

As far as the places for living, youll probably want to stay closer to the Easton side because traffic can get bad on the highways around Allentown during rush hour, but if you have to choose I prefer taking Route 78 vs Route 22. That whole area used to be big during the steel industry times but has kinda fell down since so there are a lot of older areas. There are some good events that go on at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem and from what I hear there is a lot to do in Allentown. I live in Reading so I drive through that area from time to time but haven't really statyed there for any long period of time.

Unfortunately I don't have any hook ups when it comes to stickers here on this side of the state. All my mechanic buddies are all over by Pittsburgh. Emissions is easy since all they look at is the ODB port and make sure your not getting any codes. The URD sim works fine for that. They will fail you for lights and such though if that's what your referring to as safety. I had to spend $200 to fix all my lights last year since my LED tail lights died and a couple of my HID's burnt out.

Unless it has recently changed Pennsylvania is one of the weird states where vehicle inspections differentiate between counties. I know Sullivan county had a very easy inspection. I'm pretty sure the only thing small shops would check is the fuel cap. And there were no emissions requirements :blurock:
