I should be able to begin installing the turbo very soon here. But I had a few questions.

I was told that the oil return line is being routed to the timing cover on our trucks? I thought it goes back to the oil pan? Is this to avoid pulling the oil pan? If I do go to the cover, where is the best place to land it?

I see a small metal plate on the front cover that looks like it may come off and could be the perfect place for it?
Does anyone have pics of this on a timing cover?

The oil supply line comes from the location under the oil filter? If so what size and type fitting or adapter is needed there? I tried searching and didn't come up with this information.

Thank you all for your help with this....:top:

that plate on the timing cover, is an inspection cover. Perfect place for a return. Behind the timing cover, the oil will drop straight down to the front of the oil pan.

You can get a feed from the oil sensor, next to the oil filter, of use a sandwich adapter underneath the oil filter. 3/4 x 16 UNF is the fitting size.

Post up some pictures!!!

Thanks Torspd! Do you happen to know the size/pitch thread for the sending unit?

You can actually remove a bolt from the oil filter housing and tap ur turbo oil line right from there.. Its a pressure line. I believe for the factory oil coolers.. Been awhile since I looked at it..

1/8 BSPT, if under the oil sensor.

The sandwich plate make the feed much easier. Plus another spot for an oil pressure gauge.

If anyone wants a sandwich plate adapter, URD has them in stock, just not on the website yet.

You are the best my friend. I appreciate the pics! I assume the bottom port is through the filter?
Stupid question, is there any concern with pressure drop through the filter?

I also used the port at the top of the picture posted above. Takes a big hex socket to remove the plug. I forget the thread size but I got the adapter I needed at lowes so it must be pretty common. The only problem I had with installing my oil pressure sender there was that I had to bend the nipple (Giggity) under the oil filter cup a little bit because of a clearance issue.
