So you bought a new supercharger......does that mean you still have the old one? Any thoughts of trying the old one with the new filter?

Not going to work. The old one wasn't doing anything at all. It's bad.

Even if I can make a bit of boost by putting a large filter, it still won't be full boost. It probably will make 1 or 2 PSI only.

I used to make 11 PSI using this same restricted filter. I've started losing boost gradually, even when I cleaned up the filter it didn't do anything to regain the lost boost. The supercharger is bad, unfortunately.

Supercharger arrived and installed in truck. I haven't driven it yet, but it is extremely evident how weak my old supercharger was. My BOV is blowing out air so hard while idling, something I've never seen with the previous supercharger. Pictures to follow. I had an extremely stubborn AFR sensor that won't brake loose, not even with a stillson (pipe) wrench. It got all rounded up and damaged. Will have to take it to an exhaust shop to get it off. So frustrated with it.

Wow the truck feels soooooo good now. Man it feels good. I didn't push it yet, still in break in period, but really feels absolutely effortless.

All installed with a new much larger air filter from Spectre:

Old and new filters, side to side

New filter :

Tiny Old filter :

So excited to drive it again. And to put it on the rollers to find out how much power. I'll need to be careful with WOT tuning though.

Man, that is one overly complex ducting setup. I have no idea how that MAF sensor is getting a good and proper reading on a 90 degree bend like that.

I believe that he is using the Map sensor alone for tuning, on his Map-Ecu.

The MAF is only used for Intake Air Temperature reading, nothing else. I'm using a MAP sensor, with MAF elimination mode.

Exactly, Mark.

Australian for burnouts.
Oh, I can't do a burn-out, this truck is permanent 4WD. Unless I remove the front drive shaft. Or modify my transfer case as many people do around here.

Big chain strapped to something to hold you in place. 4wd burnouts!!

I did some WOT runs, and I can't understand why am I unable to make more than 9.5 psi of boost?

When I first put on an 80 mm pulley on the old supercharger with the old smaller filter, it was making 10.7 psi. And that's the lesser supercharger, the C38-81. Now with the C38-91 and 80 mm pulley, the max boost I am able to make is 9.5 psi. Why?!

With that said, this one sure does feel more powerful than the old one. Feels so good and powerful, I'm wondering if despite being lower in boost, it's flowing more air. It is just a feeling, nothing substantiated. But I am quite puzzled. I think it builds up boost a lot earlier in the rev range than the 81.
