Could you please make a new thread for a list of people that want to buy the mount. I would like to update this in the future, it is already moved off of its original topic allot. I do hope people purchase the mounts.

Also if you do end up purchasing a top mount I have a set of QA1's for sale if anyone is interested. Located in Hawaii
How do you like you Viking shocks so far? More “streetable” than QA1?

I like them allot better. My settings now are 11 on rebound left and right, but the compression is 6 on the right and 8 on the left. The independent settings lets me dial in the both settings as the truck is not balanced. Making the rebound higher has eliminated all the chatter or choppiness I used to get from the front. also having the high rebound and less compression makes the ride smoother.

While installing I noticed I need much more preload to produce the same height left to right. I did some calculations based on preload measurements I believe the driver side/left is about ~250lbs heavier. This was the same with the qa1's but I just did not pay attention to it while installing. So I also had to make the compression dampening higher as I was getting rubbing only on the driver side.

SOLD the mounts I had built‼️
No problem I went back and I think I cleanup most the stuff about getting a fabricator to build DIY coilover top mounts and started another thread looking for members who want to get together to order and buy top mounts.

Sir, I personally want to thank you for all your footwork about these DIY coilovers!

Does the location of the adjusting knobs make a difference I see the qa1 r on the bottom and the Viking r on the top

A piece of 1" to 1 1/4" x 3" to 4" long flat stock. You just need to drill a hole to mount on the lower OE bolt then bend the end at about a 45. Then a hole for the brake line bolt. Could use aluminum 3/16" stock it's easy to work with and the line doesn't weigh much. The mount there just to hold the brake line.

With the DJM kit you need to mount them inverted.

I flipped the Viking sticker before I put it on.

If someone ends up putting an "officially tested" mount in production please let me know. I need to upgrade my shocks as 20" L151 wheels seem to overpower the stock ones.

Arcenik,
Will using the stock top hats cause the shocks to over extend? or should I get an adapter?

The only issue with using the stock Top Hats is they were designed just to hold the shocks and NOT the Springs & Shocks / the Weight of the truck!
The OE springs are supported on the very outside of the Top Hats that's supported by the frame shock/spring cups.
The OE Top Hats could become deformed or worse case deform bad enough that the coilover could come through the Top Hat, don't think that would happen but!...
Better safe than sorry, but it's your truck do as you please.

Hey arcenik . I know this is a stretch considering you’ve already done such an incredible job with this write up . I’ve got all my parts ordered to get my coilovers built and my slick and dirty mounts have arrived so I’ll be painting them and making the brake line brackets today . My question if possible . 1. What is the other size hole for the brake line bracket aside from the 9/16 hole ??? 2. Do you by chance remember what sizes you used for all the hardware ? I’m sure I can figure it out but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
Installed height. I only had time to test on one side so the sway bar maybe holding the truck up a little. I am getting 1.75" of drop at the lowest setting. With a modification to the upper bracket like mentioned in the previous post 2" could be achieved.

Brake line bracket, the bracket is made so it can be used on both sides.

This is at full lock and full sag this is as close as the brake line will ever get to the caliper. At ride height there is significantly more room for the line even at full lock.

Fully assembled photos with correct hardware and brake line bracket. Photos are at ride height.

Brackets fit perfectly there could be some slight modification to the shock mounting hole distance, it could be 3/8 closer to give a full 2" drop.

Anything more than a 2" drop puts the ball joints at a pretty mean angle. To counter this I have a set of DJM arms that I will have re-powdercoated and installed.

I am not sure what XII does with the lower mount bolt, but the factory bolt is 14mm so a 9/16 sleeve is needed from QA1 part number SLV750 this kit is $13 and includes 2 9/16 sleeves. I just through the 1/2" sleeve on the lathe and bored it out to 14mm to fit. also even with the correct sleeve I am thinking about running the inverted as you can see front the pictures the shock bottom only has about 3/32" clearance. I read others having problems with the lower mount hitting the coilover, so inverted would give ample clearance and put the dampening adjuster and height adjuster at the top.

The brake line bracket was easy to make but the hole to mount it needs to be 9/16" which is not that common for most drill bit sets. I actually don't have one but I used an end mil on the Mill to drill it out.

For the height I might order some 10" springs to make up for the lost height, this will give me more adjustability. But I am also thinking about re-installing the complete front DJM kit with the coilovers and running them at Stock height.

Overall I am pretty happy with the setup and fit so far, I plan on dropping everything off to the powdercoaters on Monday so it will be about 2 weeks till everything is done.
Thank you for sharing all of this information. I really appreciate your work on this and I am very happy to see another member contributing.
Let me know how I can help. I may reach out to the vendor to see if they can sell them not welded. Can you provide a drawing or sketch of what changes you are proposing?
Thank you again Arcenik!
