I had the seals replaced on my 2008 XR and the guy who did the work wont tell me what oil he used. I'm getting chatter when i turn sharp left on take off, wont happen every time but was not there before, so i am assuming he didnt use the right stuff including the lsd additive. Going to go in and change it myself, any recommendations on what to use????

AMS OIL 75W90 severe gear without the lsd additive is what I’ve used the last two fluid changes. Zero issues. Did the drop and fill a few months ago and the fluid looked great. Just a little north of 40K between services.

Without LSD ADD??? I thought it needed it on the ones before 09'. Well i didnt want to keep running that oil in there because honestly i didnt want to risk damage, dumped out the old stuff(looked really bad as if it was in there for years. Repleaced it with mobile one gl5 synthetic and problems went away.
2,4,6 gear hum is not longer there.
No noises or vibration on the turns (main problem)
I did a couple of launches and its taking off and sliding both wheels (wheel hop before).
I honestly think the guy that did the seals drained the fluid and put it back in there is no way that was 3 week old oil with only 100 miles on it.

You are correct. The 2005-2008 X-Runners have a "clutch type" LSD that requires the friction modifier additive, or you can buy oil that has it like the Redline 75W90 GL-5 Gear Oil.

Remember GL-5 for the differential, and GL-4 for the manual transmission.
