1GR and backpressure

Anyone else noticed that with more restrictive exhaust system the 1GR performs better? much more torque to be specific.

From my experience, my car performs much better with stock muffler (I have DTLT, vib resonators, stock muffler, pipe size from 2.5" before ypipe and 3" after, yup stock muffler is wielded to a 3" pipe) So I have tried different mufflers from straight through muffler custom made to a turbo muffler dynomax turbo, I lost lots of torque! specially when climbing big dunes (I could climb easily and fast with a stock muffler). Also I noticed that good garages here when they modify an fj or any other car with 1gr they put kind of a restrictive exhaust system.

We get them to run pretty well with a nice exhaust system on them.

Gain was 56 HP to the wheels!!

I think we will be doing a bit better with a slightly different combination.
