Black intercooler! !???!!!?

I painted mine black after watching that a few months ago. I didn't see any difference yet since it was winter but. It sure hides the intercooler. Total sheath.

Now I'm at a baby shower with too many people around to listen. ..

doubt paint would increase performance

They were not claiming it would increase performance. ..

They were claiming it would increase efficency. .


BUT!! After watching the other link he does explain it in more detail and provide good info.... I guess I won't paint it black...

The poster of that video.. Engineering explained has a ton of videos I am going to watch...

I think its pretty common sense. How would adding a layer of paint, help? Thats like saying, if you put a blanket on(or more clothes), you would be colder, does that really make sense to you????

The second video didn't discredit that the black paint didn't work because it did work with out air moving across it.. The second video was saying they were wrong in the since the design of heat removal was wrong.. I forgot what styles he mentioned.. Think it was conventional vs radiant? Don't quote me on that.

I painted my TRD heat exchanger years ago; didn't notice any differences...
