Still can. The parts are in my basement. Would just have to put it back together. I may just do that now if I get bored one day. Ill hang it on my wall lol
I am still torn on how to proceed with performance once break in is done. I am only seeing 9psi of boost with NST + URD 2.8 pulley after DTLT headers. Part of me wants to try a 2.7 pulley and see if blower is maxing out. Part of me wants simple and just up the nitrous to 100 or so and spray up top like I was doing, just now with better parts. And part of me is scared and says leave it alone.... and drive the twin turboed GTO when you want to go REAL FAST. So we will see.
Love having the truck back... but break-in periods suck! Want to hammer it and listen to her whine so bad... but that day will come soon enough.

Somebody do the math and find out what the smallest pulley I can put on this TRD blower if I keep the NST overdrive pulleys.

Just curious... Did David at APR tell you the nst + 2.6 is max efficiency?
I have a 2.6" pulley sitting on the shelf not being used. If you can't find one hit me up.
Dude if your gonna boost that much get somthing to hold that power with you need a tuning device you gotta do it right if your gonna push the limits....just a reflash is a no no...
Eh this is past efficiency. Steigemier, if they spinn to fast u risk the rotors hitting each other. He said what Im running is close enough.
Obviously so... im curious what david thinks is the highest ratio thats maximum safety. He probably knows this blower better than most. Years ago, xrunnit stated that the nst + 2.6 was overheating/killing power. He seemed to be connected with david pretty well. However, some meth/water could have cooled this down. Personally, I really want to get a modular pulley set. That way if I leave Colorado I can adjust boost properly. However, maximum spin on the trd rotors is the same regardless of elevation right? Just curious of these seconds at maximum spin over 18,000 and what the damage would be if any?
I have Map-Ecu3 for tuning. Definitely need to add fuel and maybe pull a little timing. Just wanting the most boost I can run safely then add a little nitrous for cooling
Nitrous is definitely better at cooling than water/meth... Ntinhri ran nst + 2.7 for sometime without any cooling affect. He was one of the first xrunners to get in the 12s
That's what i was thinking. I don't remember the exact numbers but I was getting a lot more than 50 HP/tq when I was running a 50 shot. Attributing that to the cooling effect. May do a combo setup. Water/meth for normal driving when in boost and nitrous for track playing. Still have 7th injector so I am already getting some cooling from it. Just want to run as much boost as is safe now that I have strong bottom end. Trying decide between 2.6 or 2.7 or 2.55. Truck shifts at 5900 I believe as is an auto trans. I remember seeking 9.5-10 was max boost before engine blew with long tubes, nst, and 2.8 urd pulley. Would love to see 15psi... but also need truck to be a safe daily driver. Lowered compression and built engine will probably take more than blower will put out.
The snake bite conversion I read about a while back. Did it up the boost or just volume of boost? If volume of boost that might be a route to at least look into.
The snake bite regears the blower and therefore you would want a 3.0 stock pulley for that; if not bigger. He was getting 16 psi on the 3.0 alone.
I don't think gasoline cools the air that well; e85 does though. I'm putting a water/meth kit on this coming weekend. 70/30 mix mostly for cooling than anything. I'm only getting 4 psi in the summer at 6000 ft and that's the nst + 2.8. I could definitely take the 2.55 + nst at my elevation; I'm just wondering what damage if any for the 18000 + rpms on the rotors.

Crank pulley diameter / s/c pulley diameter x engine rpm = s/c rpm
I think nst crank pulley is 175mm or 6.89 in.
2.702 x 5800= 15,672rpm
push this to 6200rpm engine and you get 16,752rpm from s/c.
Your current 2.825" urd pulley with nst should be around 14,146rpm s/c. If 9psi with current setup you could expect around 11-12psi IF you can keep the s/c outlet temps close to same with current setup. Water/meth does wonders but as you may know nitrous will cool things better! Lol!
Not sure what rpm limit is on the s/c but I think you will be ok at those engine rpms imo. I think the steady state rpm limit is 12-14k and intermittent rpm up to 16-18k.....
I have reached out to Stiegemeier Supercharger Porting service about my blower. Not going to go SNAKEBITE route. But will probably have my blower ported (increase flow and lower hear transfer), checked and all worn parts replaced, and maybe have the rotors lightened up. They offer service on some of the eaton blowers to lighten the mass of the rotors while maintaining outside geometry. This supposedly allows you to spin them faster as there is now less pressure on the bearings. We will see where this goes. Would love to see 12-15 psi of boost made with no additional heat. Will see what they say.
10 miles away from the first 500 mile break-in period. Will be getting oil changed at lunch and then being a little more forceful with the engine. I have been getting it up in rpms a good bit (3500-4000) while keeping it out of boost (lower gears) to ensure proper ring wear/seating. So hopefully all is well. Cannot wait until I can hear the blower whine again!
Just havebthem do everything like I did. I would do the snakebite though cuz you built your engine.
12-15...... i dont think so, I had my blower done at stieg as well n im running a 2.6 and nst lower n see 10 max.
I run E85 so that helps also.
I run crappy 91 in good o'l california. Lol
