Did you check if there was going to enough room to fit that spacer on the pan and clear the cross member ?

I took some measurements, but it is not the same as installing it. When the truck is in the air, it's one thing.

It's another when installing it. Like Rexrunner mentioned bolts will give a greater clearance to install than studs. I have both ready to try. My initial hopes was to use studs. However, there may not be enough room to slide it into place. So it may be bolts, that get used. If I use studs, I have to drop the pan straight down the length of the studs. This means double the thickness of the oil pan extension + the height of the nuts on the studs. I doubt if there is enough room to accomplish this.

I installed the oil pan last night week, I got home from work.

    Here are the pics.

Oil pan removed. This shows the stock pick up tube.

Oil pick up tube gasket. You need two (2) of these.

This is the stack up of the pick up tube. One spacer, one gasket each side.

    Spacer/pick up tube installed.

Of course, there has to be one bitch bolt.

I managed to get a stud here and a hex nut on it, but it was a pita. If I made the spacer a little thinner, it would not be such a problem.

This space was a 1.25" thick, this increased the volume 1.5 quarts.

I checked for leaks tonight we I got home and nothing visible. I have an oil pressure gauge and everything looked normal. I will report in a few days, If I have any problems.

Nice Coupe! Now that I have SS Swaybars I'm even more scared to get in the gas while exiting a turn. I know this is something I'll be picking up so I can sleep at night.

Very nice james. If you like I could do the sideways testing for you! Lol. I can see this will sell just like the shifters.

I want to do a little testing to make sure I do not have any problems. I have an oil pressure gauge with a low pressure warning light. I will get the X sideways and see if I see any drop in oil pressure.

Make sure you try transitions, kinda like a figure 8. Get the oil moving side to side. Thats my biggest fear with my X right now. :ahhhhh:

I do not think this will matter. Regardless of the drop, the relationship between the engine and the frame (or crossmember) remains the same.

You are changing suspension components to move the truck closer to the ground. (This means the truck/frame/engine, all drop at the same rate) You are not changing frame mounts to bring the body closer to the ground and the frame.

Thanks for the offer. It was not the fitting to the engine I was concerned with, but rather getting placement around the crossmember.

Sorry I should of rephrased my question - i know how the drop works but I was more concerned w/ rubbin my cross member/frame when being so close to the oil pan now.

Seriously Coupe, this has turned out so well. If I had the need for this, I would have been putting a deposit down far before the finished product.
