Anyone? I work at an autopart and a mechanic told me that I can use rear disc conversion from Highlander on my X Runner.

Does anyone already do it? or another Toyota OEM Disc Conversion?

Thank you

Get more details from him, I have not heard of anything about it. If its possible it would be good to know what would be involved.

Issue i see with this off the bat, is that how would we mount the caliper to our live axle?

Highlander's use independent rear suspension with a McPherson strut w/ trailing arms and toe rods. The fronts are your typical McPherson strut with lower control arm. the caliper mounts to the strut using two bolts, similar to our front. Just off of memory, the hole spacing and bolt location are kind of in the same spot as that for our axle studs that holds the axles/wheel to our rear axle housing. But that's a very rough guesstimate...

we need to find exact measurements on Highlander caliper/disk dimensions or info on anybody that has done this...:top:

The issue is where the caliber bracket mounts too. Not the caliper, since the caliper mounts to the
caliper bracket.

The only compatible set up is from Lexus IS350 to work on our trucks a guy in Panama city Florida makes the caliper bracket for the set up and the very important emergency brake cable it is not as easy as it sounds .

I have even thought about a new model 4Runner rear discs but never looked too far into it really. But only think i see is that the highlander is front wheel drive and x-runner is rear wheel drive. 4runner would prolly be close match. But by time you do all that work you might as well the rear brake conversion from
