Looking for info, part numbers and conversion instructions. I have nearly all components from my old 4wd but need a new intercooler due to excessive damage to the cooling fins. I didn't see a write up in the how to section... I know many of you installed them on the x-runner. Where is the best source of this info? Thanks

Sorry Found it

Although is the cooler just this part?? https://goo.gl/images/AaE83r

Do you need the intercooler at all or is that for the for the AT transmission only?

There is no "intercooler". It's only the sandwich plate for under the filter. The thermostat housing with the inlet and outlet for it. And the various hoses, clamps and o rings

Ya the intercooler you're thinking of is for the transmission cooler kit.

Engine coolant is pumped though that oil sandwich plate under the oil filter, which is a heat exchanger of sorts. The engine coolant is cooled from the standard vehicle radiator and as coolant passes through plate absorbs heat from the oil that passes through isolated channels. You'd think you need more surface area but I guess you don't.

Anyone care to add or clarify?

I just installed mine on my X yesterday.

I went ahead and replaced all of the associated O-rings as well, just for piece of mind.

Here's the parts list, and what MSRP is on each part.

15710-31010 x 1 Cooler Assy $761.85
15695-22010 x 1 Union bolt for oil filter $16.09
96134-41900 x 4 Hose Clamps $2.24
15777-31010 x 1 Cooler hose $16.09
15778-31010 x 1 Cooler Hose $21.61
16323-0P020 x 1 Thermostat Housing $103.64 (I reused my actual thermostat, same part number for X or 4wd)
96761-35031 x 1 Water Tube O-Ring $3.88
16325-31010 x 1 Smaller water tube o-ring $1.70
16326-31020 x 1 Thermostat to Housing O-ring $1.09
00272-SLLC2 X 2 Pink super long life coolant $20.68 per gallon, I used about one and a half

It was a super easy install. Took me about an hour. I spent more time pulling off the fan clutch and shroud and putting on a new drive belt than I did installing the cooler.

I can't say how much cooler it makes everything, but, for me its more of a piece of mind thing, and, for a truck I plan on beating on, it cant hurt.

The water temp is about 180F. In the summer months (Houston) oil temps can be 225F. The 180 temp water cools the hotter oil.
