Split thermostat hose + coolant leak

Had a hose on my tstat split yesterday. Lost a lot of coolant and it's all over the engine bay presumably because it was spraying out onto the fan.
------
Update... just went outside to lower the truck since I don't need to get under it and had a thought.

Two screws on the fan were kind of loose when i took it off. I had also noticed a spot on the tstat where it looked like it had been struck. I picked up the fan and there are chunks missing from the fan. >: | Clearly the fan struck the tstat and the hose causing the damage and leak.

This all makes sense because the last couple weeks when driving the truck (my truck only gets driven 1-2 per week) while idling at a stop light, I noticed this VERY slight knocking sound. I'm confident now it was the fan striking the housing. My wife seems to remember a night a few weeks ago on our way to church (in the truck) where we both heard a lot sound like we hit something in the road. I'm guessing that's when it all started...

Time to buy a new fan, hose and coolant. Argh. Anything else I should check?

Thanks. No idea why the fan was loose. I crank that thing down every time I remove it and it's been off probably a dozen times - never had a problem before.

Leave it to me to be unique.

The unfortunate part is that I replaced the busted hose and the fan and I'm still leaking coolant. It's a slow drip but it's coming from somewhere. Just noticed today at lunch and haven't had a chance to get back under the truck to try to track it down. I was 100% sure that the split hose was the only cause of the leak based on the evidence for the cause. That right there is why I never play the lotto.

I've had a minuscule leak ever since I installed the blower. I didn't have another o-ring for the thermostat housing at the time of the install and now I've got a super slow drip there....annoying as all hell. Also had leaked at the connections because the clamps weren't sealing tight enough. I'd check the connections first then look at the o-ring at the t-stat.

Finally had some time today to take a closer look. Took off everything in the way so I could see better. Definitely seems like the leak was coming from the top of the water pump so I'm guessing the water pump gasket needs to be replaced. I went ahead and drained the coolant and removed the water pump. I'll order a new pump (may as well), gasket and t-stat o-ring on Monday. Hopefully that will get it squared away. I'll keep this thread updated just in case someone else runs into a similar issue down the road. That's why forums > Facebook. :)

Here's the highest spot I could find leaking/dripping. This is looking at the top of the water pump - block on is the left side of the photo, fan would be on the right.

Weep hole perhaps? Either way, the truck has some age on it. Doesn't hurt to update those parts any how.
