Looking into a trailer to get into the BBQ competition hobby.
How does the stock GVWR compare to a modded XR that can handle the extra weight?
Not asking to double the weight but maybe a bit over.

What kind of weight are you looking at? I would think you'd be fine with your mods. I am sure people have towed trailers with the sittin sic drop, but I can't remember any threads about it, or a person who has done it specifically.
If anything you may need to look into a set of helper air bags if you have an issue with the back end sagging or bottoming out when loaded.

Air assist bags will get you back to stock ride height.

^^^^ That should tell you that should be ok. A car trailer is pretty heavy. I wouldnt recommend doing it off the bumper. Id say get a hitch for it.

The XR is rated for 3500 lbs. I modified the Air Lift kit (59103) to fit on my X.

Def recommend a hitch, plus a hitch keeps that weird crease near the gas cap area from forming.

Its no f350 but it works better than you think, lol

How much weight are you talking about? I towed 4 sport bikes in a trailer with 1 in the bed with my 06.

Derrick just make sure you dial up the QA-1s to 10-12 so you don't have to worry about the leaves over flexing. I tow a 16' Glastron bowrider on a regular basis with the same suspension setup. I've had no problems what so ever. And supercharged I imagine you could probably pull a little more weight.
