I know some of you painted your X-Brace back in the day or have removed it for one reason or another.
I took mine off sometime before Irma and just got around to putting it back on. I haven't driven the truck in the meantime aside from backing the rest of the way into the garage. I realized one of the bolts under the leaf spring bushing is stripped like hell so I can't get it back it in. I bought another bolt, same thread pattern, but the hole doesn't line up even with all the others loosely threaded. That one started to cross thread as well. Did anyone else have trouble reinstalling after removing their X-Brace?
I bought this truck pre-owned so I'm suspecting it may have been hit/twisted somehow and previous owner or mechanic just forced the bolt in with an impact gun.
I don't have a tap and die set so I'm going to buy one this week and see if I can get those threads to match up. I don't want to bore the hole out on the X-Brace if I don't have to but that's my last resort
