Rumor has it that these transmission don't like to be rebuilt....that sounds like an internal issue.

My truck goes back to the shop on Tuesday to fix third gear.. labor is all free just need to buy the parts, he said he didn't fix it last time because he was hoping to get away with it because it wasn't that bad, and to try and save me money.. but it didn't work. So back to the shop it goes..

There is no way I would take that trans back to that guy. He wasn't trying to save you money, he was trying to save himself money. I would be in a rage if I paid that much money to get it back with problems, then to hear, oh I didn't think it was that bad and I was trying to save money. Basically, that's his way of saying "yeah I know it was effed up, I didn't feel like taking the time to fix it, so I was hoping you wouldn't notice"

Good luck with it man, but I would stay away from that guy. Who knows what else is in that trans that should of been fixed/replaced and wasn't...

Yea I'm def not going back there again.. just gonna have him fix it and the next time it breaks cuz I know it will, I'll just get a new one..

Honestly I'd be telling him that since you had to install and pull your transmission again because of his screwup, that he will be paying for the parts too.

I knew that guy seemed sketchy. I wouldnt be paying for a penny of that. You just spent almost how much a t56 swap would of been, for that guy to "rebuild" a stock transmission.

Yea I know, a $1300 quote ended up a 3700 fix def sucks, but the guy doing my headers builds race cars and what not so I'm hoping he's good lol..
