i've had the same M-Class 500D amp since 2004, lasted through 4 12"s @ 1 ohm and just got done blowing the M emblem off a 2009 M-Class 10". For all the punishment i've thrown at it it's still going strong.
I like the construction of the new Memphis Reference. The cones are stitched to the surround instead of just glue. And for the fact the boxes are only .5 cu.ft. they hit amazing deep, deeper than the M-class 10"s in my wife's xterra. I might be changing them out.
JL just released a new 10" shallow mount. I was going to test load both the JL and Memphis but the shop didn't have the new JLs in yet and I ran out of time. I'm extremely happy with the Memphis though.
